Hello! my name is Leon and welcome to my blog. Today I'm gonna talk more about myself ニコニコ

I'm 20 this year and currently living in Singapore. I recently graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic. Some of my hobbies are playing table tennis , badminton and taekwondo. My dream is to travel around the world to experience different cultures, learn new things and to have a challenging and exciting career ahead!

In Secondary school , my CCA was Chinese Orchestera and I played erhu and double bass and my other CCA was Art Club where I participated in a few drawing events. During my freetime, I would sometimes draw and here are some of my artworks.

It was at Nanyang Polytechnic that I experienced the most memorable days in my life. I made many great friends and had many opportunities to increase my knowledge.

In year two, I was appointed the group leader responsible for exchange students from Japan. During their 5-day visit, I conducted guided tours around my school and assisted them in their group projects. Although tiring, it was fun and fufilling experience as it helped me forge new friendships and enhance my leadership, teamwork and communication skills.

Also in year two , I volunteered to help out in the school's Open House and assigned to be the leader of a secondary school class. I was responsible for giving them tours around the school and trying to recruit them to our courses. During the Open House in the following year, I manned a booth showcasing my diploma and explained what my diploma was all about to secondary school students and parents who are interested. I gained experience speaking to strangers and improved my interpersonal skills and confidence.

In year 3, I had the chance to go to Japan for a 3month attachment programme. Over there I had a fun time learning new things and exploring new places. As I am very fluent in Japanese, there were not much problems conversing with people over there and thanks to that I made many new friends. It was Autumn then and there were many deciduous trees and it was beautiful. I'm also a cat lover, i was delighted with the sight of so many adorable kittens wandering around the school dormitory. ラブ

After coming back from Japan, i started working on my Final Year Project  and did a project on anti-bacterial water filtration system using silver nanoparticles. In the course of the project, I managed to significantly decrease the amount of bacteria in the pond water. Doing this project made me realize what science and technology could achieve and this made me want to pursue a degree that could achieve my dream of developing a product that could potentially benefit mankind.

I believe that SUTD has the right degree for me as it has a challenging curriculum and there are many projects that have hands-on experience and require a lot of creativity and these aspects could nurture me into fufilling my dreams. I hope that I could be part of the SUTD family.

Thank you for your kind attention
