it is the end of year

i have finished my tasks for this year on last Friday. so, my winter vacation has been started already. But, my back is injured since last Saturday. Hmm, it is so bad.

These are like Christmas events, Year-end parties, or Year-end holidays.

Do you have any plans to do during these holidays?

I'd like to improve my creative skills such as making movies, composing songs, implementing software, talking in English, and using generative AI.

So, I need more time to do them.

理解と納得

昔、親父に数学の問題の答えを聞いて

「理解はしたけど納得はできていない」

と答えたら

「数学において理解と納得は同義だろ」

と言われた。

あれは中学か、高校かの時なので、

もうだいぶ昔だ。親父もきっと覚えていないだろう

でも、やはり、理解と納得は別物だと思う。

例えば、虚数のiは「そうやると数学の枠が広がるから定義されたもの」として理解はするが、現実世界にはないものなのでどこか納得できてはいないし、微分のlim(x→0)とかも「0に近付けるだけで0ではない」のは理解するものの、それを積分すると面積になったりするのは納得いかないところがある。

色々な場面で、この「理解と納得」は登場する気がしていて、「理解」は頭で捉えた世界、「納得」は心で捉えた世界なのだと思う。

だから音楽理論とかを学ぶ時は、頭だけで「ここの度数がどうの」というのではなく、耳で聞いて心に届かせることが習得…理解と納得が合致している状態にできるのだろうな。

It's hard to remember words.

No matter how many times I try to remember some words, I just can't remember them.

Do you have such an experience? I often do. For instance, "expenses," "enthusiastic," "emphasize," etc.

To remember that, I have to use them more frequently.

Today, we were supposed to hold a kickoff meeting with people in other departments. But some of them canceled to join the meeting. Because they caught a cold, they said.

of course they won’t join a drinking party after the meeting. It makes sense. very make sense…

But, we have prepared booking a conference room, sending invitations, making agendas and reserved an izakaya. I’m so sad to hold the party with a small amount of people.
