in preparation for tomorrow, i needed to find myself.... (again, a lot has been going on, and i feel a bit lost), so i decided to read back iun my early entries.... i am actually a pretty cool person.... have i changed? a bit... here are some notes

1. back in 2008 my seasonal drinks were:
summer: of course, lipton milk tea or kochakaden royal milk tea
秋:伊藤園お~いお茶,アサヒカクテルパートナープレミアム巨峰とライチ
fall: ito-en o~i ocha, cocktail partner premium grape and lychee
冬:伊藤園ジャスミン茶
winter: jasmine tea
春はなにになるのかなぁ~
i wonder what the drink of spring will be....
now, in 2013 my seasonal drinks are:
summer:ice coffee, VERY cold water.... the milk teas are too sweet for me nowadays
秋:伊藤園ほうじ茶. same brand, different flavor. in 2008, i hadn't yet discovered houji cha...
fall: ito-en houji tea, oh god it's soooooo good.
冬winter:any type of hot tea, especially anise tea or peppermint tea with cinnamon, hot coffee with vanilla, 熱燗(hot sake....yum)
春spring: i know why i never had a spring drink.... it:s sort of a false season... it's so short! But i drink
a lot of Umeshu and Shochu during Hanami, so i guess those are my drinks of choice ^^

2. in 2008, my dream was to live in Tokyo and to go back to fashion school....
Currently re-defining my deams....That's actually kind of a beautiful thing isn't it? To be in a state of re-discovery and searching??
3. in 2008 i was generally happy, and very motivated... what is different now??
a. I liked my job
b. I like the people who I was working with
c. I liked the adventures that I was having.... I was very involved in the Vkei scene still, and
was living an ichigoichie type of seikatsu....?
d. had both money and time so i was able to have freedom to do what i liked....
e. had lots of friends nearby that i could count on- like yuki and heather and yumiko, yuki moved to like somewhere overseas, heather went home, yumiko is still around but she has the 2 girls, so it is very difficult to see her....
3. food that i most like to eat when i`m sick in 2008- margarine jam pan
food that i most like to eat when i'm sick in 2013- margarine jam pan, ice cream
4. Everyone always asks me this, and I never know the answer, but in reading my old journal entries, i think i finally understand when that started to happen, because at some point, i stopped wanting to live in Tokyo.
probably started falling in love with gifu/nagoya in february of 2008, when i realized that there were so many unique names
of towns and cities. i found it really interesting! Then kept discovering more! Like especially Karasue (because in Japanese, my
name means karasu, i thought it sounded super pretty!, and alsk kami-minami-kata- kinda descriptive, but it sounds really pretty!
owari-ichinomiya- keeping the owari province in the name! so cool! then i went to the tokugawa museum, and learned about the
history of the provinces and about where i lived (at that time, i lived in Seino in gifu), and how those names are still kept today...
I guess I started getting into the history of Nagoya and Gifu, and once I knew more I felt more connected, like I was living in a
really special place in Japan. Also, of course now there are friends, and Komakiku Sensei and all of the other Nichibu people
and Sayaka and my gamer boys and stuff. See blog from 2009-02-24 12:14:42 for more details.
today i read to the end of 2009/05 i wonder what i'll find when i keep reading!

Love!
