周防大島在住の、MNさんから、「貴君のブログにしばしば載っている草花の写真をたのしんでいます。 私は海の花ともいうべきニホンアワサンゴの写真を送ります」とお便りいただきました。国内最大規模のニホンアワサンゴの群生地が山口県周防大島町にある。ニホンアワサンゴは東アジアの固有種で温帯域に生息している。
MN-san, a resident of Suo Oshima, writes: "I enjoy the photos of flowers and plants that you often post on your blog. I am sending you some photos of the Japanese coral, which should be called the flower of the sea. The largest Japanese coral colony in Japan is located in Suo Oshima, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Japanese coral is native to East Asia and lives in the temperate zone.

On July 21, 1970, the Aswan High Dam was opened in Egypt, allowing humans to control the flooding of the Nile. 1970年7月21日、エジプトでアスワンハイダムが完成し、ナイル川の氾濫を人間がコントロールできるようになった。
