That's all Germantown's boys basketball team needs to tie Whitefish Bay Dominican's state record of 62 straight victories. The Warhawks cruised to victory No. 61 Friday night, 88 42, at Cedarburg.
Senior forward Evan Wesenberg led Germantown with 20 points. Dwayne Lawhorn Jr., a junior forward, added 17 points for the Warhawks, who led by 12 points after one quarter and by 25 at the half. Saturday at the NY2LA Sports Classic at Homestead. Should Germantown win that game, it could break the record Tuesday at home against Milwaukee Lutheran.
This past season South Milwaukee's John Galewski led the Rockets to their second straight Woodland East Division title.
Next summer, he'll take on a new challenge when he serves as head coach for the South in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association large school all star game. The contest is scheduled for July 19 at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh.
The small school all star game will begin at noon.
Galewski's staff will have plenty of local flavor. His assistants will be Franklin's Louis Brown, Mukwonago's Clay Iverson, Oconomowoc's Ryan McMillen, Greenfield's Scott Otto, Milwaukee Messmer/Shorewood's Drake Zortman and South Milwaukee's Bill Morse. Sun Prairie's Tim Bass is also on the staff.
In the small school game, Brown Deer's Rob Green and Waterford's Adam Bakken will assist Rodney Wedig, who coached at Walworth Big Foot last season but recently resigned to become the head coach at Beloit Memorial.
Another honor has come Simone Lee's way.
It was announced today that the senior volleyball player from Menomonee Falls has been named the Gatorade state player of the year.
The 6 foot 1 outside hitter who signed with Penn State led the Indians to a 48 4 record www.officialbuccaneersnflauthentic.com/authentic-kadeem-edwards-jersey.html and the Division 1 state title. She recorded 660 kills, 355 digs, 100 service aces and 57 blocks while compiling a kill percentage of .461.
The award adds to Lee's lengthy resume. The Journal Sentinel named her its area player of the year.

Arrowhead football standout George Panos will Authentic Kadeem Edwards Jersey play in the Semper Fidelis All American Bowl Jan. at the StubHub Center in Carson Calif.
The event is sponsored by the United States Marine Corps. Panos, a guard who has committed to Wisconsin, was one of 90 players from around the country selected. In addition to athletic prowess, selected players must display academic success and embody the Marine Corps values of honor, courage and commitment.
Panos was scheduled to be presented with his jersey for the event during halftime of Arrowhead's boys basketball game with Ketle Moraine Friday night.

The WIAA Board of Control gave initial approval Friday to a conference realignment proposal that affects 76 schools and eight conferences in the northeast and east central regions of the state.
Three of the schools affected are Kewaskum, Kettle Authentic Kevin Pamphile Jersey Moraine Lutheran and Ozaukee.
Ozaukee is set to join a 14 team league that would combine the Central Lakeshore with a number of schools from the Olympian. It would consist of Cedar Grove Belgium, Elkhart Lake Glenbeulah, Hilbert, Howards Grove, Kohler, Manitowoc Lutheran, Mishicot, Oostburg, Random Lake, Reedsville, St. Mary Central, Sheboygan Lutheran and Sheboygan Christian.
The proposal places Kewaskum, which is currently a member of the Eastern Wisconsin, and Kettle Moraine Lutheran, a member of the Wisconsin Flyway, in an eight team league that would include members both from both leagues. The other schools would be Campbellsport, Plymouth, Waupun, Berlin, Ripon and Winneconne.
