SUre, 90% of Japan already kinda knew that this whole Aimi Eguchi thing was a huge marketing campaign.
Some poeple even came up with very plausible theories that "Egichu AImi was made as an April Fool's joke by AKB. However, because of the earthquake, they had to postpone it.
But they invested so much money into the whole joke that they decided to just run with it in June.
ALso the setting was very obvious all along.
