I started packing up my desk at work. If I don't hear from HR tomorrow, I'll take down some of the larger things - my Aragorn standee - and start cleaning the desk out. I already took next Friday off to rest and to job hunt, but I'll begin looking at options this weekend.

Just as soon as I write my essay and plan my presentation and and and....

Things get so busy during the school year. But, only eight months or so to graduation.

I can make it....right?

sun and clouds

I took this picture last winter. I hope I can take some nice skyphotos this winter, too. There's only a brief window to take really nice pictures of the sky because the weather changes so quickly out here. This one is one of my favorites.

The situation at work remains unresolved. I requested next Friday off so I can start looking for something else. I really don't want the hassle of changing jobs mid-semester, but I don't have much of an alternative at this point.

Oh, and now I need to be to work by 6:30am.

Suck.! o(;△;)o

I don't have one of my classes tomorrow, though, so I can go to bed tonight and not worry about how I didn't read the materials. I've already read the book for the other class.

Maybe this is fate trying to cut me a break.

most cows

I woke up at 5:30 as usual, but I'm so soooooo tired.
ぐぅぐぅ

Have to get up, though, and be productive! Mustn't fall asleep!

But the bed looks so warm and comfortable......

I don't want to go to work!

I finished the visuals for my Spanish presentation tomorrow. Hopefully all will go well.

I'm still waiting to hear back from HR, but I doubt they're going to be efficient in resolving my issues.

Tonight, I made broiled salmon for dinner. Unfortunately, my oven is old and the house started to fill with smoke. The salmon was tasty, though.

Now for a bath - I didn't get to take one the other day as I'd planned - and bed.

I turned in my letter to Human Resources today. Hopefully I will get some positive results.

Also....

Today.....

I folded my 1000th crane! クローバー

I started folding them when I first started with the company, 4 years ago. Today I completed my 1000th! 虹

I'll take a picture of it later. I'm a little too tired to tonight.

My fighting spirit has returned!

I finished my letter to HR and will have our assistant manager deliver it tomorrow.

I made spaghetti squash for myself and Val and didn't poison us! ラーメン

Even though tomorrow will be long - school and then class until late at night - I think I can pull through.

Now, though, time for a bath and bed. ぐぅぐぅ

I slept in today, then I woke up and called my mother to ask how to cook spaghetti squash. All of Leigh's industriousness in the kitchen has inspired me to not eat fast food this fall.

To that end, I went to the grocery store. I wanted to go to theAlbertson's on Sheridan, but it was closed when I got there - closed meaning the store was no longer there. So I had to drive 15 minutes in the opposite direction to get to another Albertson's. There's a grocery store closer to my house, but the price for fish is better at Albertson's and I really wanted some salmon. Also, they sometimes have really good sales on beef.

I spent $74 at the grocery store, even taking a list with me. 驚き

It was all things I needed, though: vegetables, bread, meat. I did splurge and get some hummus, though. It was on sale and it sounded like the perfect treat. Also, I can use it as spread on sandwiches.

This weekend feels like it was wasted. I got a lot of things done, but I didn't enjoy it much. Hopefully the rest of today will be relaxing enough to make up for it.

Today ended better than it began, but I'm still not quite on an even keel.

There's lots of work to get done tomorrow, but I got quite a bit done today, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Now I want to sleep.

astronaut

How many kids want to be an astronaut but never get there?

Is is because they lack ambition? Money?

Are they not smart enough?

Or does this dream, like others, die when they step outside their room and wake up.....

I was so busy at work today that I didn't have much time to think. 10 hours passed in the blink of an eye.

Still, I almost enjoyed myself at work today. Caught up in meetings and conversations, I was able to forget all the issues I've been having. I still have to draft my letter to Human Resources, but I've gained the support of my supervisor, so I'm hoping that will help make my case stronger - or, at the very least, make HR willing to listen.

I outlined the problems I've been having as well as offered multiple suggestions. I'm not simply going to say "I want more money." I'm saying "I want to be paid properly for the work I do, or I want you to alter my work so that it is proportionate to my pay." I've come to realize that either outcome is fine with me. I just want things to be, to use a weak term, fair. I want to love my job and my company again.

Hopefully, things will work out for the better.

I"m sleepy now, though, so I'm going to bed. It's 1am over here, after all.
