IMHO, the problem with the new jb designs is that they lack soul. unlike back in the day when tinker designed the game shoe, he always had a concept/inspiration behind it that connected to the personality of mj. today, jb designers seem to be using the tech (the tech used isn't even new or cutting edge since parent brand nike already have products using it) as the concept and simply injecting some personal "info/references" of the athlete as a detail on the shoe just so that it can be said that the shoe was/is designed for/inspired by the particular player. from the look of these designs and what the designers themselves actually explained about the products, there doesn't seem to be any real "design http://maruta.be/chencueng1/1 inspiration" that is connected to the personality of the 3 athlete/endorsers and that is why to me, they look generic. but maybe therein lies the difficulty of having a "signature shoe" under the umbrella of another athlete's signature shoe line.
i find it hard to believe that this is the best they could come up with. the wade looks just like the first fly wade, and it looks like a ripoff of a li ning. the melo looks like cheap. and the cp3 is unbelievably generic. This is JORDAN, it's supposed to be the greatest footwear design in the world. And these are 3 of the greatest players http://nikairsoes.mex.tl/ in the game. I don't get why this isn't working. These shouldn't be boring, team shoe-looking, future-clearance rack specials. These should be signature shoes that all feel different, that all have personality and style. I know performance is important, but try that argument with Tinker. He made it work. This is a fail.
