Katie Brignac among seven Curtis players to sign with colleges Wednesday

Katie Brignac, who has helped lead the Patriots softball team to consecutive state championships, signed with Memphis and mentioned that Curtis isn just a football school anymore.

She will be joined at Memphis by Curtis shortstop Brooke Lee who also signed with the Tigers. Lee hit .518 as a sophomore with nine home runs and 28 RBI and improved on each of those numbers last year hitting .519 with 10 home runs and 30 RBI as a junior.
Curtis first baseman Rachel Brockhause signed with Tyler Junior College coming off of a season in which she hit .407 with three home runs and 25 RBI after posting a .458 average and 38 RBI as a sophomore. Also, second baseman Heather Scully, who hit .364 last season and .410 as a sophomore, signed with Louisiana College.

In the middle of all the spring sport athletes was Kolby Morgan, who signed to play basketball for Lisa Stockton and Tulane.
Morgan is a two time Class 2A all state selection and averaged 24.0 points per game as a junior while leading the Patriots back to the state championship game. She averaged 13.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.3 assists per game while helping Curtis to a state championship during the 2011 12 season.
