2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings
The 2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings have the Indianapolis Colts atop the charts after one interesting decision from Bill Belichick. But with that in mind, here is the 2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings. 1) Indianapolis Colts Undefeated and rolling with momentum after a win over the Patriots, the Colts look to be the team to beat. The Colts are playing at an extremely high level and that will be tested this coming week in Baltimore. The Colts are number one of the power rankings because of one guy. You get my drift. The Week 11 Power Rankings wouldn't seem without the Colts on top after a thrilling win over New England. Even if Belichick kind of hand deliver the last second comeback to them.
2) New Orleans Saints After an ugly win over the St. Louis Rams the Saints are still undefeated. But has the armor been pierced? Not yet, it still looks as if New Orleans is the team to beat in the NFC. That's why they are number 2 on the 2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings. If the playoffs were today, the Colts and Saints would be favorites to reach the Super Bowl. Both would have home field advantage with no losses on their schedules. Would anyone be surprised if that happens? That's why the Saints and Colts are 1 and 2.
3) Minnesota Vikings With just one loss the Minnesota Vikings would normally be considered the best team in the NFC at this point in the season. But the Vikings will have to play in New Orleans unless they can figure out a way to have someone else slow down the Saints. Even with Brett Favre, a win in New Orleans won't be easy during the playoffs. But it sure might make for good television and high ratings. The Vikes are easily number 3 on this list considering the duo of Favre and Peterson and a defense that seems to be on a special mission this season. The Vikings are third in the 2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings
4) New England Patriots I don't care if they are just 6 3. They are still the Patriots. Bad decisions or not, this team will be ready come playoff time. Power Rankings or not, the Pats aren't going to just roll over against anybody. Tom Brady to Randy Moss is still the best connection in football even if Peyton has his Reggie. But it's getting closer these days. Still, the Patriots are the 2nd best team in the AFC and some days they are the best.
5) Cincinnati Bengals Go with the flow here. I'd like to put the Pittsburgh Steelers in this position. The only problem with putting the Steelers over the Bengals in the 2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings is that the Bengals have swept the Steelers. So with that in mind, the Bengals, even minus Cedric Benson and plus Larry Johnson, are still a tad better than the Steelers in my power rankings. But not by much.
6) Pittsburgh Steelers So what if they lost to Cincy twice this season? The Steelers are still clutch and they always seem to peak at the right time. If they get their running game back together Pittsburgh could be very very tough in the cold months and playoff time. That means the Steelers could sneak up the 2009 NFL Power Rankings as the season continues. The only problem if they don't win out is they might be playing indoors somewhere on turf. That means Big Ben will have to put up Big Ben road numbers.
7) Arizona Cardinals Last year's surprise team is finally getting a run game together with Beanie Wells. If that stands up then the Cardinals could add another huge dimension to their already impressive passing game with Kurt Warner. The Cardinals need a little defense to prove they should climb up the charts of the power rankings in 2009. But 7th in the 2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings isn't bad considering the competition that is ahead of them.
8) San Diego Chargers Call me crazy but yes I have the Chargers ahead of the Broncos and Cowboys at this point in the season in the 2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings. Philip Rivers and LaDainian Tomlinson are starting to roll and that could mean trouble coming out of a possible wild card slot or divisional winner in the playoffs.
9) Dallas Cowboys The Cowboys didn't have much offense in Green Bay. They'll have to play better on the road to finish out this season strong. Still, some of the ingredients for a fine football team certainly exist in Dallas. The Cowboys could suprise some people in the playoffs. 9th is just a sneaky position in the 2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings for the Cowboys.
10) Denver Broncos Down but not out, the Broncos are struggling with 3 straight losses. Still, the defense is tough and if a healthy Kyle Orton returns, this team isn't that bad and certainly more on the verge of a realistic season at this point. Do they deserve to be in the top 10 of the 2009 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings? Who else could you put here. The Falcons, Eagles and Bears are struggling. When in doubt, go with the best Defense and that certainly suits the Broncos.
