Human Rights for Peace and Security
Promotion and protection of Human Rights for peace and security are principles enshrined in theCharter of the United Nations, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and are directly related tothe right of peoples to Self-Determination; this interdependent and inter-related nature with Article I ofthe common covenants – the ICCPR and the ICESCR and also with the fundamental human rights andfreedoms of peaceful assembly, freedom of expression, underpinnings for promoting peace and security.
The rights of peace and security will be highlighted with human rights and international law obligations asthe basis to follow through with Special Procedure, Universal Periodic Review and OHCHRrecommendations.
