Once a week, I want to feel the thrill of acceleration on my bike.
Kumiko was exhausted with a high fever, like she had COVID.
I rode out to the Starbucks Higashi-Betsuin store in the city. It was crowded on a Sunday afternoon, but I managed to find a seat on the outdoor terrace and relax. Even though it was already mid-September and the lingering humidity was still around in many places, the weather finally turned crisp and pleasant—it felt great.
Tuesday is a national holiday for the Autumn Equinox, so I’m taking tomorrow off to make it a four-day weekend. On Tuesday, I’ll be going to a Motoharu Sano concert instead of Kumiko. I don’t know his music at all, but maybe I can enjoy a singer from my own generation.
On the way home, I stopped by Auto Center Hirabari. I was hoping to get an appraisal for trading in my MT-03, but the staff were busy with another customer, so I’ll have to come back. The shop has the vibe of an old-school bike dealer—honestly, I think I prefer it to the somewhat pretentious Kawasaki Plaza.
