Cross cultural understanding within JAPAN

We will research "Cross cultural understanding within JAPAN".

At 0:48, February 21st, our beloved friend Kenta Okada's birthday (happy birthday :D), we have successfully won against our 4 hour battle in coming up with our topic outline. (yaaaaay!)

We have first gotten together early this evening with the fundamental problem:

WHAT REALLY IS OUR TOPIC!?!?!?!?!

Our 4 hour suffering began from discussing about the diversity of cultures within Japan, the topic of our original interest.

Amazingly, our discussion heated up, and we soon found ourselves in the middle of an endless questions, such as 'what is our identity?' 'what is nationality?' 'what makes us Japanese?' 'what makes us different from each other, despite being Japanese?' and so on.

As a result of all the struggling, we have finally reached an consensus on our outline where we think we have finally managed to find the flow of arguments that makes sense.

However, all the issues and questions still wander around in our minds and we were not able to come to an 'answer' in which we can confidently present.

So, we hope to write about all our unorganized thoughts and ocnflicts in our report later on.

The outline is as follows:

Cross-cultural understanding in our country (Japan)

1. Nationality... many of us have nationalities that we are born in.

what is nationality?

what makes us a member of that nation (Japanese)?

Is it our physical features, language, characteristics, values, culture? what more?

2. Identity... we all have something in common from the nationality that we belong to. But looking at our personal identity, we all vary in all the different ways.

examples: the Ainu people and the Okinawa people

3. conclusion:

Cross-cultural understanding is many times meant to be done between different nationalities.

However, we are all so different in many ways despite our common nationalities.

Therefore, it is important to first promote mutual understanding within our own country.

Now we will move on to further researching and interviewing people.

We will do our best!!!ヾ(@°▽°@)ノ
