Project SMILE

Project SMILE

Practices by the conceptual artist Haruyasu YANAGI

When I go out, I'll bring and give a flower to a person
who seems to be interested in it.
That person will smile, and hopefully spread happiness.

At the daylesford in Notting Hill, London, when I asked her to participate in this project SMILE, she showed me an interest in it.

Here you will see her smile.
We talked about the products they carry and even about our life.
I wish her good luck,

We met in a vegetarian restaurant in Amsterdam.
She was from Berlin and is studying product design.

She told me that she was interested in Japanese design, so hopefully I will have a chance to show her around some of the cities in Japan someday in the future.

I met her before her house in Amsterdam.
When I passed by her garden, I saw cherry blossoms and talked to her.
She stopped taking care of roses and took time for me.

She even showed me the inside of her house which was built in 1903 and is decorated with elaborate stained-glass windows.
