AIRLINE

My agent made me a special arrangement this time.


My first departure and my final arrival will be at Narita.

SO he chose ANA (All Nippon Airways) for that.

I go to Bangkok and go back from Singapore on ANA.


And in between, I will use Royal Brunei Airlines.


The cost of that will be around JPY70,000.

ITINERARY

After several change my itinerary fixed.


Sep. 17-19 Bangkok,

Sep. 19-21 Bandar Seri Begawan,

Sep. 21-24 Singapore...


This was temporary. I changed it a few weeks later.

BUILDING ITINERARY

Brunei is the short name of the country and the real name

means "the land of eternal peace." Its real name is Brunei Darussalam.

I need to have another step before arriving at Brunei Darussalam.

There is no direct flight from narita to Brunei.

Possible place between Narita and Brunei includes

Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
Because I know that Kuala Lumpur have a smog problem these days

and I have been to Hong Kong before, So it was Singapore and Bangkok. 
I called my friend in a Travel agent and asked if this round trip works.

In the first stage, my itinerary has Kota Kinabalu in it.

PROJECT EMPIRE

So I decided to have enough vacation to enjoy Borneo.

Result was the 9 days vacation in Septembre.


First thing I did was to put a project name to this vacation.

naturally for me, this time, it was Project EMPIRE.

WANDERLUST

Exactly saying, it was not Brunei, but was the Empire.

The Empire is the name of the hotel in Brunei. Some of my friends recommended
me that the Empire is the most gorgeous hotel in the world. So I remember that name.

I did not know where the Brunei is. I thought it is in somewhere in between
India and China. I was thinking about Nepal or something...

So I look for the place of Brunei and found that it is a small country in Borneo.


Borneo.

Lighting strikes.


Borneo was one of my lifetime dream places.

Wanderlust begins to shake deep inside.

THE BEGINNINGS

So, this is to record what I will see or think on my first visit to Brunei via bangkon and singapore.


Summer 2005, I thought I don't have big vacation. But I happen to have one. Or I decided to have one.


Originally I do not think about go too far place like Mexico, Brazil or Turkey. i was always dreaming about going to Taipei or Seoul. What I thought after I decided to have a week vacation, my thoughts go a bit further on Asian map.


Brunei was the place.
