クジャクサボテン と ギンさん（╹◡╹）

クジャクサボテンが 咲きました。

Hi there! 

The orchid cactus in our yard has come to bloom at last. 

実は、前夜のうちに開いてました。

Actually it had bloomed the night before. 

今年は、一輪しか花が咲かなかった、残念…

Unfortunately this is the only one this year. 

クジャクサボテンの花の寿命は、本当に短い。

An orchid cactus flower withers only in a day or so. 

たった1日で、しおれちゃう。

このクジャクサボテン

リクガメが、好きなんだって❗️

I hear that tortoises like them. 

Why not give it to our pet tortoise, Gin? 

ギンさんにあげてみました。

最初は、何これ？って顔してますが…

At first he seems to be wondering, examining what it is. 

食べてるうちに味がわかったらしく、

But then he recognizes it’s good to eat. 

すごい食いつき❗️

He begins to gobble into the flower. 

He obviously loves it. 

Look at him. 

He looks very pleased and satisfied with his new food. 

食後のギンさん  口 真っ赤❗️

ごっちゃんです🐢

好きなのはいいけど…

I know how much you love it. 

However it’s only once in a year you can have it. 

I hope you’ll understand. 

ギンさん、悪いけど

これ、一年に一回しか、

食べられないからね〜。

そこんとこ、お解りいただきたい…

PS ご理解ください を英語でいうと？

I hope you’ll understand. です。

ただ、Do you understand?  わかってる？

というよりも 

I hope ... と添えることで、丁寧な表現になります。

出先で テキトーに、ジョナサンで

旦那、タンドリーチキンとピラフ

私、ローストビーフのサラダ

これ、フルーツとか 豆とか

いろいろ入っていて 美味しかった。

娘、蟹雑炊のセット

娘のデザート

なんか、和風な感じのパフェ。

抹茶とあずき、間違いないね。

As we went out, we happened to have lunch at one of those family restaurant chains, Jonathan’s. 

We rarely choose one as a place to dine, but actually it was quite good. 

It should be counted as one of the options, I thought. 

ジョナサンて、 滅多にないけど 

結構 美味しかった。

ジョナサンも、悪くないねー、と思いました。
