センター試験が始まり、緊張は和らいだ菖だったが、自分の直感とあの国語の方程式との間で揺れることとなる。
Once the Center Exam started, Ayame could make herself feel comfortable. However, she had to have a hard time to choose between two answers, one from her intuition and the other from the formula.
二つの選択肢で迷ったとき、どちらを選ぶかで人生が大きく変わるかもしれない。人は、選んだものからもたらされる結果に重きをおきがちだが、実は、どちらを選んだかというよりも、どのような理由で何を選んだかのプロセスの方が重要なのだ。
When you have to pick one between two choices, your life may change a lot depending on your choice. People tend to think much of the results coming from the decision, but in fact, the process how and why you made the decision is more important.

何か失敗やいたずら、悪い事をやらかしたときに、しまった～的ニュアンスで使います。
I am in trouble. も同じように使えます。
