Battery life is a tough one - because the longer the battery life, the heavier the machine will be. Battery options are usually presented in "cells", referring to the number of battery cells in the battery pack. A three cell battery has half the capacity (and weight) of a six cell pack. Even though Windows XP is still available, I recommend staying away from it.
