Disable Critical Battery ShutDown

Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the Compaq Laptop Battery

Okay let's see, I have a Compaq Presario Notebook, 2175US the problem is I need to disable the feature that shuts down the computer when the battery is low. I have gone to compaq tech support and they told me to switch the power scheme to always on but that's not helping. I used to be able to do it but now I dont know why after the last time I quick restored it, now it wont help.

I tried turning the alarms off, I tried putting the alarms on and put NONE under the "When Alarm goes off take this action: "

I dont know what else to do, I'm trying to do this because I think my battery such as Compaq Presario 700 Battery , Compaq Presario 900 Battery , Compaq Presario 1700 Battery , Compaq Armada E500 Battery , Compaq EVO N100 battery , Compaq Evo N1020V battery , Compaq Evo N1000C battery , Compaq Evo N115 battery has memory again. I used to use the battery in 0% for about a half an hour or something, I want to do the total drain of the battery again because again its lasting about 15 minutes and after I did it the last time it lasted about 2 hours.

I have an issue where every time by laptop batter discharges the time clock resets. I believe that this is realated to the bios battery. I have taken the laptop appart properly via guide provided on compaq website. This is the maintenance guide with all the spare part numbers listed. However, this laptop is out of warranty.

My problem is that I cannot locate the bios battery anywhere on the board. Could someone with some experience pleae review the diagram for this model and tell me where the battery is?

I ended up replacing my motherboard for a model with more features (SD readers blah blah).

I took it all apart and put it all back with the new board in...now when i go into windows (and even before while booting)...the orange lights would come on for a second...then beging to flicker

while in windows...it just will either not charge the battery..or flicker from AC to battery

i CAN power the unit on with the battery alone, and i CAN power the unit with the cord alone...

lastly, my old motherboard (which had a HD connector problem)...still WILL charge the battery...so i'm sure its not the battery...i don't think...

i also dont' think its the AC adapter since it is the same piece I used on both motherboards.....
