CHUNITHM is the aracde game that exist in Japan. It is a rhythm game where if the line comes on the bar below, you need to tap it. Very simple but as the level increases, there will be more things to tap and it will eventually become very hard and skillful game.
This game is not very well known in other country outside of Japan but they are very well known in Japan. Those rhythm game are not only CHUNITHM but if I introduce everything, we will run out of time and we don't want that so I will just talk through about this game in detail.
So this game has started on 2015, 16th of July. This game was created by the "Team MaiMai". MaiMai is another rhythm game just like this CHUTIHM. This changed the whole view of the rhythm game because previously, although the type of game looked very different and they all have their personality, the game was same as any other, just tap the bar on the line.

However, this game surprised everyone by adding something innovative to CHUNITHM. It is called "Air".
As you can see on the screen, when this green arrow going up from the tap line is air. all you need to do is to raise your hand and it sounds simple. However, this did not exist and CHUNITHM is the first game to introduce new target called "Air". The reason why this Air never existed is about the price of making one machine. They obviously cost more than making touchable screen to have sensor to recognise the hand is in the air. However, these arcade game always cost exactly the same that it is harder to make profit out of it.
Who is the audience they targeted?
This game are targeted for almost everyone in any age. Although to be expert of this game, we do need fair amount of money and therefore it is slightly more towards poeple aged 18-30.
Speciality
This game has lot of speciality and the biggest speciality is the word.
階段(Stairs)
Stairs are the word used when the notes are placed like stairs. This notes seems quite simple but they could be quite tricky depending on how they place it and the spcing.
混フレ・混合フレーズ(Mixed rhythm)
This means you have different rhythm of notes happning on your left hand and right hand. This is something lot of people struggle and hate. It is almost remembering it with your finger movement because looking at the notes confuses you a lot.
出張運指(Hand trip)
This means that your left hand or right hand crosses over. We do want to avoid this to happen because it takes time to bring your hands back to original place.
ゴリラ(Gorilla)
This sound like a negative thing but this means you are insanely good at the game and does crazy hand movement to surprise everyone. If you are ever called gorilla, take it as a better compliment than being called you are good at the game.

覗き見厨(Looking at other's play)
Usually, people who knows the player looks at the screen but there are some people who just looks at someone playing. Other one could talk to you as well. Never do it, it is very distracting and they will be very angry.
台パン(Punching/Kicking the machine)
If you do this, please do leave a website and search up "Basic rules in this society". It is very disrepectful to machine and people dorrounding playing it. People does this makes the game impression bad that other cannot start playing.
These are the words use a lot with these rhythm game. They are slightly special and there are way more of these but you can find out on your own!
