Procrastinating is a common practice that many people do in their lives these days.
Many students tend to procrastinate things that they have to do.
When I was in a middle school I was a student who had a paper written at least a week before the due date.
I always did things way ahead of time, and never stressed about homework.
A lot of procrastinators want to start earlier than they do, but they cannot do.
Because of the nasty habit.
If you’re a chronic procrastinator, you know the pain and stress that comes with putting things off.
Although you may have the desire to accomplish something, getting the motivation to do it is a different matter.
In addition, procrastination has some darker negative aspects, such as depression, irrational behavior, low self-esteem, and anxiety.
Also, almost of all procrastinators feel guilt and stress.
As the deadline approaches, they feel more stress.
Therefore, I propose that three ways of avoiding procrastinating.
A key way to keep on target and keep up to deal with students work is to create a timetable.
This way, they can set aside time every week to make sure they get their work done.
Obviously, they’ll need to be flexible with this, as some weeks they’ll get more work for one half of a course than the other.
However, this is a good way to ensure they keep on schedule and don’t fall behind.
Moreover, it’s essential to balance day to day activities for better result and even success.
The benefit of time management is not just important for development of a career.
It has significant impact on one’s personal life.
Creating a timetable can reduce the stress level.
If they follow time management properly then they will get better result.
Even they can relax themselves while enjoying their work.
Timetable is also helpful in making their lives healthy; as if a person will adopt scheduling in his life then he will definitely save sometime for doing exercise and other health related works.
Therefore, he or she will become healthy definitely.
Some people may object to this solution that creating a timetable.
They may claim that students can feel stress when they don’t go as they scheduled and also they feel fatigue because they think that they have to go as they planned.
However, they do not feel fatigue and stress if they get enough rest.
The most effective way of creating a timetable is not a tight schedule that means to take regular break during the task.
Second solution is working with friends.
If students can’t work on their own, they should find a friend or family to help them work.
To begin with, when they study with their friends, they can discuss some topics together in order to find the best ways to resolve many difficult problems.
I’m pretty sure if they spend just 10 minutes talking to intelligent people, they will be more inspired to act than if they spent the 10 minutes doing nothing.
The people they are with influence their behaviors.
Of course spending time with them every day is probably not a possible method, but the principle applies.
Identify the people or friends who trigger them- most likely the go-getters and hard workers- and hang out with them more often.
Ideally, their friends should be someone who has his or her own set of goals.
Both of them will hold each other accountable to their goals and plans.
While it’s not necessary for both of them to have the same goals, it’ll be even better if that’s the case, so they can learn from each other.
I have a good friend whom I talk to regularly, and we always ask each other about our goals and progress in achieving those goals.
If they tell all their friends, teachers, and family about their projects, whenever they see them, they are bound to ask them about their status on those projects.
For example, sometimes I announce my projects on blog, Twitter and Facebook, and my readers will ask me about them on an ongoing basis.
It’s a great way to keep myself accountable to my plans.
Of course, some people will object to my suggestion.
Some will say that some students may don’t want to become friends with someone.
Furthermore, students tend to drift away from the subject when they work with their friends.
However, it does not happen if they choose a friend who is serious and wise.
In addition, studying with friends, they can reduce stress and fatigue when they spend a lot of time learning by some different ways.
For example, I usually feel tired and stressed after days’ hard work, thus I want to meet my friends in order to share my emotion with them and they will help me reduce stress.
I can forget all worries in my study and work.
In short, I think that friends will play an important role in our lives and studies.
Finally, change their environment is also effective way.
Environment can be one of the reasons why people procrastinate so to prevent this habit from taking over their lives; they need to change their environment using the right approach.
The environment can have a direct impact on their productivity.
Surrounding promotes positive or negative feelings and mood.
The place where they work is also the place where they live so it should be appealing and lively.
A terrible environment will just make them procrastinate.
Different environments have a different impact on their productivity.
A final objection may concern that changing the environment costs money or takes time.
The point of this objection is that students don’t do their tasks in their regular place such as their home, they tend to go same cafe or library so it can cost some money and take the time to go somewhere.
On the other hand, students don’t have to go outside, they just should organize their room or desk a bit.
In this case, it doesn’t cost and take time too much.
In conclusion, the problem that students procrastinate can be greatly reduced if they take these ways.
Those will give students who habitually put things off, and more importantly, those will give both the teacher and those students who are hand in an assignment by the deadline.
