I would like to introduce
a GREAT Japanese instructor
Mrs. Toyoko Osawa!
お元気でしょうか？
今日は、いつもと一味違って、
日本語のプロ
大澤登代子先生
を、ご紹介したいと思います！
実は、大澤先生は、ぼくの勤める学校で
事務を担当してくれています。
が、実は日本語のベテラン教師なのです。
She actually works for the same company
as an office worker.
But, she also a great Japanese instructor.
She is so popular among kids and adult.
子供からも大人からも
大人気の大澤先生に
色々と聞いて見たいと思います。
ごへい: アメリカに来られたのはいつ頃ですか？
Gohei: When did you come to the US?
大澤先生: 結婚をして主人の仕事関係で28年前に
長男を連れてアメリカにやって来ました。
Mrs. Osawa: I came to the US 28 years ago
with my hudsband and the first son.
ごへい：２８年前だと、日本人も少なかったでしょうね。
日本語を教えるきっかけは？
Gohei: I am sure that there were not so many
Japanese back then.
Why did you start teaching Japanese?
大澤先生：日本語学校の理事長さんから
お誘いを頂き、関心があったので
日本語講養成講座を受けました。
Mrs. Osawa: I was encouraged by the president of
a Japanese launguage school.
Then I started to take a Japanese course.
日本語を学ぶ学生さんの中には、
日本の歴史に関心を持っていらっしゃる方も多く、
こちらが学ぶ事も多いんです。
There are students who have great knowledge of
Jaspanese history that I can leanrn a lot from.
ごへい：日本語教師として
心に残る思い出はありますか？
Gohei: Do you have any memorable experience
as a Japanese instructor?
大澤先生：日本語と国語は違うと言う事ですね。
ある日、日本人女性とデートをしていた、
日本語の学生さんが、自分の彼女は実は
日本人ではない！と厳しい批判をして来ました。
Mrs. Osawa: The difference between
Japanese that actually native Japanese people study
at school and Japanese launguage that non Japanese people study.
One day, one of my students was very upset
saying "My girl frined is Japanese, but she can't
explain the grammer to me. Is she really Japanese?!!"
理由は、彼女が彼の宿題を手伝っていた際、
文法の説明が出来なかったからだそうです。
She was helping him with his homework,
but she couldn't explain well enough
about the grammer to him.
普段、私達は日本語の文法を意識して話を
していないので、いざ聞かれても説明に困るわけです。
We don't think about grammer while we speak.
It is more spontaneous.
これは、非常に興味深い出来事でした。
It was a very interesting fact to me.
ごへい：確かに、その通りですよね。
逆に僕達は、英語の文法を説明できますけど、
ネイティブスピーカー達に聞いても
分からない事が多いのを
僕も感じた事があります！
Gohei: That's right/
On the other hand, we can explain English grammer
while native English speakers have no clue about it.
大澤先生から、学生の皆さんに
メッセージはありますか？
Do you have any messages to poeple
who study Japanese?
大澤先生：学びたい！と言う強い気持ちが
大切だと思います。
成せばなる！と言う言葉が好きです。
努力を惜しまず頑張って頂きたいと思います。
Mrs. Enthusiasm is the key to learn the language.
If you keep making a good effort, the result will follow for sure.

笑顔が本当に素敵な、大澤先生は
子供にも大人にも大人気です。
ドイツ系アメリカ人の男の子は、
大澤先生の情熱と楽しいところが大好き！
と、言ってました。
Mrs. Osawa has such a beautiful smile and warm heart
that she is very poplular among people at any age.
One German American boy told me
that he loves the passion and the humor she has.
やはり、楽しくレッスンを進めて、
しっかり日本語を入れていく大澤先生の
やり方を見ていると、
自分のピアノのレッスンにも通用するので
学ぶ事が多いです。
She gives lessons with laid back atmosuphere
and yet very enthusiasm.
I have learned so much from watching her
giving lessons!
これからも、日本と世界をつなぐ
橋渡しとして頑張って頂きたいと思います！
