Photo journalism is different from photography but the purpose of photo journalism is to inform information to the other people.
He also mentioned that photojournalists have to care about ethics when they take photos of someone and release to the media. They have to should be polite to the people and respect them and their ideas,
We were also impressed that Mr Zan makes an ethical decision all the time when he take a photo of someone. As a photo journalist like Mr Zan, we should have a responsibility to inform the information by means of photo without any biases or misunderstandings to the subject not only showing photos to someone else,
・What can you apply in your own role as a student of photojournalism?
As a student of photojournalism, we have to make an ethical decision all the time when we release to the social media for example SNS. For instance, we should care about who is in the photo and get a permission by them. Since we have learned many kinds of techniques and critical viewpoints from lectures including Mr Zen's lecture, we also have to pay attention to the news photos and critically think whether the photo is worthy or not, and appropriate or not.
