This is the mistake that I made long time ago

× Have you ever been to abroad?
○ Have you ever been abroad?

We don't use "to" before the word "abroad".
abroad means overseas, foreign countries

× have gone to there → ○ have gone there
× come to here → ○ come here
× go to there → ○ go there

He smiled, so I got up and asked for his name
"But that don't matter," he said"'Cause it's all the same."
I said, "Can I take you home where we can be alone?"

Alone doesn't always mean just one person
This time it means just two of them
