Dear NASA,

I am a mother of 4-year-old boy who has gray zone asperger spectrum disorder and dreaming of to be an astronaut.

Because of an ASD and that we had been in US for 3 years, my son speaks almost English only. Although he loves space things so much and has many encyclopedia in Japanese, I cannot fully tell him in English.

I would like to give him a lot of experiences and acknowledge that will encourage him about his dream.

Dear NASA,
I am writing to you as the mother of a 4-year-old boy who dreams of becoming an astronaut.
My son is on the autism spectrum (gray zone Asperger’s). Having lived in the U.S. for three years, he primarily speaks English. He is absolutely fascinated by space and spends his time looking through Japanese space encyclopedias. However, as a parent, I sometimes find it challenging to explain complex space concepts to him fully in English.
I want to provide him with as many experiences and as much knowledge as possible to encourage his dream. I believe that his passion for the stars will help him overcome any challenges he may face.
Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration for children like my son.
Sincerely,

Dear NASA,

However, as a parent, I sometimes find it challenging to explain complex space concepts to him fully in English.
I want to provide him with as many experiences and as much knowledge as possible to encourage his dream. In this regard, I have a few requests:
First, if possible, would it be possible to receive a short encouraging message or any educational materials for him? I would love to show him that his heroes at NASA are cheering for his dream.
Second, could you recommend any NASA resources or programs specifically designed for young children with ASD? I want to find the best way to explain the wonders of space to him in English, his primary language.
Lastly, as he grows up, I want to support his unique journey. Do you have any advice or stories of individuals on the spectrum who have contributed to NASA's missions? This would give him great hope for his future.
I believe that his passion for the stars will help him overcome any challenges he may face. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration for children like my son.
Sincerely,

Dear NASA,
I'm writing to you because I thought you could encourage my son's dream of being an astronaut.
My 4-year-old son has autism spectrum disorder.
Because ASD affects his communication skill and that we lived in US for 3 years, his primary language is English. Although he loves space especially moon, solar system and blackholes so much and has many encyclopedias in Japanese, I cannot fully tell him in English.
I wish I could give him a lot of experiences and knowledge that would encourage him about his dream.
We would be most grateful if you could do as following:
First, please let us know if there are any programs for little children or for children with ASD at NASA, either it is in-person or online.
Second, can we have stickers or something, that will encourage his dream? I know some stickers could be downloaded on the website, but it would be much more exciting for my son to receive them from NASA.
Lastly, I'm just curious, but could you tell me if there are any people with ASD at NASA? I hope my son will also achieve great things someday.
We're looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
