101 Dalmatians
Roger and his Dalmatian dog Pongo live in London.
Every day, Pongo looks out of the window, bored and a little sad.
Pongo wants to have a family one day.
He wants Roger to have one, too.
One day, Roger takes Pongo for a walk in the park.
They meet Anita and Perdita there.
Anita is a beautiful woman and Perdita is her beautiful Dalmatian dog.
Roger smiles at Anita and Pongo smiles at Perdita.
Roger and Anita fall in love. They are very happy.
Pongo and Perdita are also in love. "Let's start a family," Perdita says.
"Yes, let's!" Pongo says. "I would like to have some puppies!"
Some weeks later, fifteen puppies arrive!
They all have beautiful coats, white fur with black spots.
One day, they hear a BEEEP! outside.
"Oh, no! It's Cruella De Vil!" Pongo and Perdita do not like
Anita's old schoolfriend, Cruella.
Cruella is wearing her fur coat. She loves fur and she loves the
Dalmatians' beautiful coats.
"Where are the puppies?" she asks Anita, "I would like to buy them all! Today!"
Cruella smiles a terrible smile.
Cruella wants a new fur coat — white with black spots.
“Oh, no,” Roger says. “You can’t buy the puppies. They are our family.”
Cruella is very angry. She wants the puppies and she has an idea.
The next evening, Roger and Anita take Pongo and Perdita for a walk to the park. The puppies stay at home.
Two bad men are waiting outside. They see Roger and Anita leave and they go into the house.
Roger and Anita come back ... and the puppies are not there.
“We have to get help,” Pongo and Perdita say. They go to the park and they bark and bark. They are calling for help.
Some animals in the country hear their call and they start to look for the puppies.
Sergeant Tibs the cat says, “I can hear a noise.” Tibs and his friends are near Cruella De Vil’s house.
“Perhaps it’s the puppies! Let’s look inside!”
Back in London, Pongo and Perdita are very sad.
“We have to find our puppies,” they say.
That night, they jump through a window and run to the park. They speak to a friend.
“We know where your puppies are,” he says.
“They are at Cruella De Vil’s house in the country.”
“Cruella De Vil!” Pongo and Perdita cry. Suddenly, they understand. “We have to go NOW!” they shout.
Tibs the cat sees the puppies through Cruella’s window. He starts to count them. “13, 14, 15 ...,” he says. He knows they are Pongo and Perdita’s puppies. Suddenly, he stops and listens.
Cruella is talking to the two bad men. “I must have my Dalmatian coat tonight!” she shouts.
Tibs is angry now. “Don’t hurt them!” he cries. Then he jumps through the window and into the house.
Suddenly, Pongo and Perdita arrive. They see their puppies. They see a lot of puppies! 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 ...
Pongo and Perdita jump at the men. Tibs helps the puppies outside.
Tibs says goodbye and the puppies run into the cold, dark night.
Pongo and Perdita follow them through the snow and Cruella and the men follow in their cars. The Dalmatians run faster than the cars!
The Dalmatians find a small village and they hide in an old building. It is very dirty in there, but Pongo has an idea.
“Play in the dirt, puppies!” he says. They are very surprised! “We can get dirty! Hooray!”
Soon they understand. Now their coats are not white with black spots. The Dalmatians are black dogs now!
They jump into a truck. Cruella sees only black dogs.
But one puppy gets wet, and suddenly Cruella can see the spots.
“Catch them!” Cruella cries. She is very angry.
“Goodbye!” the Dalmatians laugh from the back of the truck.
Cruella and the two bad men drive dangerously through the snow. They go faster and faster and faster and then, Crash!
Roger and Anita are very sad. They are waiting for Pongo and Perdita to come home with their puppies.
Suddenly, the door opens and Pongo, Perdita and a lot of very dirty and very excited puppies run into the room!
Roger and Anita count the dogs. “101 Dalmatians!” they cry.
“What can we do with all these puppies?” Anita asks.
Roger smiles. “They can stay,” he says. “We can be one big, happy family! One very big, happy family!”

101匹(ぴき)わんちゃん
ロジャーと、彼(かれ)の 犬(いぬ)、ダルメシアンの ポンゴは ロンドンに 住(す)んでいます。
毎日(まいにち)、ポンゴは 退屈(たいくつ)そうに、そして 少(すこ)し 悲(かな)しそうに 窓(まど)の 外(そと)を 眺(なが)めています。
ポンゴは いつか 家族(かぞく)を 持(も)ちたいと 思(おも)っています。
ロジャーにも 家族(かぞく)が できたら いいなと 思(おも)っています。
ある日(ひ)、ロジャーは ポンゴを 連(つ)れて 公園(こうえん)へ 散歩(さんぽ)に 出(で)かけます。
そこで アニータと パーディタに 出会(であ)います。
アニータは 美(うつく)しい 女性(じょせい)で、パーディタは 彼女(かのじょ)の 美(うつく)しい ダルメシアン犬(けん) です。
ロジャーは アニータに 微笑(ほほえ)み、ポンゴは パーディタに 微笑(ほほえ)みます。
ロジャーと アニータは 恋(こい)に 落(お)ち、とても 幸(しあわ)せです。
ポンゴと パーディタも 恋(こい)に 落(お)ちます。
「家族(かぞく)を 作(つく)りましょう」と パーディタが 言(い)います。
「うん、そうしよう！」とポンゴが 言(い)います。
「子犬(こいぬ)が ほしいな！」
数週間後(しゅうしゅうかんご)、15匹(ひき)の 子犬(こいぬ)が
生(う)まれます！
みんな 白(しろ)い 毛(け)に 黒(くろ)い 斑点(はんてん)の、
とても きれいな 毛並(けな)み です。
ある日(ひ)、外(そと)から「ビーッ！」という
音(おと)が 聞(き)こえてきます。
「いやな 予感(よかん)…クルエラ・ド・ヴィルだ！」
ポンゴと パーディタは、アニータの 昔(むかし)の
同級生(どうきゅうせい) クルエラが 好(す)き ではありません。
クルエラは 毛皮(けがわ)の コートを 着(き)て います。
彼女(かのじょ)は 毛皮(けがわ)が 大好(だいす)きで、
ダルメシアンの 美(うつく)しい 毛並(けな)みに 夢中(むちゅう)です。
「子犬(こいぬ)たちは どこ？」と クルエラは アニータに 聞(き)きます。
「全部(ぜんぶ) 買(か)いたいの。今日中(きょうじゅう)に！」
クルエラは 恐(おそ)ろしい 笑(え)みを 浮(う)かべます。
クルエラは 白地(しろじ)に 黒(くろ)い 斑点(はんてん)の 新(あたら)しい 毛皮(けがわ)の コートが 欲(ほ)しいのです。
「だめだよ」と ロジャーが 言(い)います。「子犬(こいぬ)たちは 僕(ぼく) たちの 家族(かぞく)なんだ」
クルエラは とても 怒(おこ)ります。彼女(かのじょ)は 子犬(こいぬ)たちを 手(て)に 入(い)れようと 企(たくら)みます。
次(つぎ)の夕方(ゆうがた)、ロジャーと アニータは ポンゴと パーディタを
連(つ)れて 公園(こうえん)へ 散歩(さんぽ)に 出(で)かけます。
子犬(こいぬ)たちは 家(いえ)に 残(のこ)ります。
外(そと)では 悪(わる)い 男(おとこ)たちが 待(ま)って いました。
ロジャーと アニータが 出(で)かけるのを 見(み)て、
家(いえ)の 中(なか)へ 忍(しの)び込(こ)みます。
ロジャーと アニータが 帰(かえ)って くると、
子犬(こいぬ)たちが いません。
「助(たす)けを 呼(よ)ばなきゃ」と
ポンゴと パーディタが 言(い)います。
彼(かれ)らは 公園(こうえん)へ 行(い)き、
ワンワンと 吠(ほ)え 続(つづ)けます。
助(たす)けを 求(もと)めて いるのです。
田舎(いなか)の 動物(どうぶつ)たちが その声(こえ)を 聞(き)きつけ、
子犬(こいぬ)たちを 探(さが)し始(はじ)めます。
猫(ねこ)の ティブス軍曹(ぐんそう)が 言(い)います。
「何(なに)か 音(おと)がするぞ」ティブスと 仲間(なかま)たちは
クルエラ・デ・ヴィルの 家(いえ)の 近(ちか)くに います。
「もしかしたら 子犬(こいぬ)たち かも！中(なか)を 覗(のぞ)いてみよう！」
ロンドンに 戻(もど)った ポンゴと パーディタは
とても 悲(かな)しんで います。
「子犬(こいぬ)たちを 見(み)つけなきゃ」と 言(い)います。
その夜(よる)、彼(かれ)らは 窓(まど)から 飛(と)び出(だ)して
公園(こうえん)へ 走(はし)ります。
そして 友達(ともだち)に 話(はな)しかけます。
「君(きみ)たちの 子犬(こいぬ)の 居場所(いばしょ)、知(し)ってるよ」
と 友達(ともだち)が 言(い)います。
「田舎(いなか)の クルエラ・ド・ヴィルの 家(いえ)に いるんだ」
「クルエラ・ド・ヴィル！」と ポンゴと パーディタが 叫(さけ)びます。
すぐに すべてを 理解(りかい)します。
「今(いま)すぐ 行(い)かなきゃ！」と 彼(かれ)らは 叫(さけ)びます。
ティブスは、クルエラの 家(いえ)の 窓越(まどご)しに
子犬(こいぬ)たちを 見(み)つけます。
彼(かれ)は 数(かぞ)え始め(はじめ)ました。
「13、14、15……」と つぶやきます。
それが ポンゴ とパーディタの 子犬(こいぬ)たちだと
分(わ)かっているのです。
すると突然(とつぜん)、彼(かれ)は 動(うご)きを 止(と)め、
耳(みみ)を 澄(す)ませました。
クルエラは 悪(わる)い 男(おとこ)たちに 言(い)っています。
「今夜中(こんやじゅう)に ダルメシアンの コートが 欲(ほ)しいの！」
猫(ねこ)の ティブスは 怒(おこ)ります。
「やめて！傷(きず)つけないで！」と 叫(さけ)び、
窓(まど)から 家(いえ)の 中(なか)へ 飛(と)び込(こ)みます。
突然(とつぜん)、ポンゴと パーディタが 到着(とうちゃく)します。
彼(かれ)らは 子犬(こいぬ)たちを 見(み)つけます。
しかも たくさんの 子犬(こいぬ)たち！16、17、18、19、20…
ポンゴと パーディタは 男(おとこ)たちに 飛(と)び かかります。
ティブスは 子犬(こいぬ)たちを 外(そと)へ 逃(に)がします。
ティブスは 別(わか)れを 告(つ)げ、子犬(こいぬ)たちは 寒(さむ)くて
暗(くら)い 夜(よる)の 中(なか)へ 走(はし)って いきます。
ポンゴと パーディタも 雪(ゆき)の 中(なか)を 追(お)いかけます。
クルエラと 男(おとこ)たちは 車(くるま)で 追(お)いかけます。
でも ダルメシアンたちは 車(くるま)より 速(はや)く 走(はし)ります！
ダルメシアンたちは 小(ちい)さな 村(むら)を 見(み)つけ、
古(ふる)い 建物(たてもの)に 隠(かく)れます。
そこは とても 汚(よご)れて いましたが、
ポンゴは いい 考(かんが)えを 思(おも)いつきます。
「泥(どろ)で 遊(あそ)ぶんだ、子犬(こいぬ)たち！」と
彼(かれ)は 言(い)います。子犬(こいぬ)たちは びっくり！
「汚(よご)れて いいの？やったー！」
すぐに みんな 理解(りかい)します。もう 白地(しろじ)に
黒(くろ)い 斑点(はんてん)じゃ ありません。
ダルメシアンたちは 黒(くろ)い 犬(いぬ)に 見(み)えるのです！
彼(かれ)らは トラックに 飛(と)び乗(の)ります。
クルエラには 黒(くろ)い 犬(いぬ)しか 見(み)えません。
でも、1匹(ぴき)の 子犬(こいぬ)が 濡(ぬ)れて しまい、
斑点(はんてん)が 見(み)えて しまいます。
「捕(つか)まえて！」と クルエラが 叫(さけ)びます。
彼女(かのじょ)は とても 怒(おこ)って います。
「さようなら！」と ダルメシアンたちは トラックの
後(うし)ろ から 笑(わら)います。
クルエラと 悪(わる)い 男(おとこ)たちは 雪(ゆき)の 中(なか)を
危険(きけん)な 運転(うんてん)で 追(お)いかけます。
どんどん スピードを 上(あ)げて…そして、ドカーン！
ロジャーと アニータは とても 悲(かな)しんで います。
ポンゴと パーディタが 子犬(こいぬ)たちを 連(つ)れて
帰(かえ)って くるのを 待(ま)って います。
すると 突然(とつぜん)、ドアが 開(ひら)き、ポンゴ、パーディタ、
そして たくさんの 泥(どろ)だらけで 大(おお)はしゃぎの
子犬(こいぬ)たちが 部屋(へや)に 飛(と)び込(こ)んで きます！
ロジャーと アニータは 犬(いぬ)たちを 数(かぞ)えます。
「101匹(ぴき)の ダルメシアンだ！」と 叫(さけ)びます。
「こんなに たくさんの 子犬(こいぬ)、どうしよう？」と アニータが 言(い)います。
ロジャーは 微笑(ほほえ)みます。「みんな ここに いて いいよ」と 言(い)います。
「僕(ぼく)たちはきっと、 大(おお)きくて 幸(しあわ)せな 家族(かぞく)に なれるよ。
とっても 大(おお)きな、幸(しあわ)せな 家族(かぞく)にね！」
