民間のウェブサイト「ウィキリークス」は
２日までに、約３年前にフィリピン国内で
放射性物質の闇取引情報があったことを示す
アメリカ国務省公電を公表した。
これを受け、左派系団体は
「フィリピン国内に駐留する、アメリカ軍により
持ち込まれた可能性がある」として
フィリピン外務省に事実関係の調査を求めた。
また、サンチャゴ上院議員は
汚職改善のためフィリピン版告発サイトの立ち上げを呼び掛けている。

１月31日、サバ州コタキナバル国際空港に向かっていた
マニラ発のセブ・パシフィック機内で爆弾騒ぎがあり
コタキナバル空港に緊急着陸した。
２時間にわたって機内や乗客が点検を受けたが
結局爆弾は発見されなかった。
フィリピン当局によると
セブ・パシフィック5J733便は午後４時ごろマニラを発ったが
航空会社の予約ホットラインに爆弾を仕掛けたという脅迫電話があったため
午後５時50分ごろにコタキナバル空港に着陸後、ターミナル２に誘導した。
乗客と乗務員が避難する一方
爆弾処理班と特殊部隊が機内を点検したが爆弾は発見されなかった。
フィリピンでは１月25日に首都圏で５人が死亡する
バスの爆破事件が起きている。
