列車にひかれる
フィリピン首都圏マニラ市サンタクルスで
23日午前５時半ごろ、フィリピン国鉄の線路で寝ていた
19歳の妊婦が列車にひかれて死亡した。
一緒にいた同棲相手の20歳の男性も足をひかれ重体でした。
ゴミ拾いで生活していた妊婦らは線路を枕にして寝ていたところ
列車の接近に気付かず逃げ遅れたという。

水谷氏はフィリピン在住で
フィリピンの邦字紙「まにら新聞」の記者。
１９７５年三重県生まれ。
受賞作は、祖国日本を捨ててフィリピンにやって来たものの
無一文となり、生活に困窮している邦人５人の人生を描いたもの。
