5種類の「新種のラン」が発見された。
この地帯は反政府勢力ゲリラが活動しており
違法採取から守られていると思われる。
専門家の話によると
「この5種は、この山岳地帯にのみ生息し
200年間発見されなかった種」だという。
フィリピンでは
地元住民らによる野生のランの違法採取が横行しており
許可なく輸出や路上販売するために
一部の地域では違法に栽培・収穫されている。

トヨタ自動車系部品メーカー
「アイシン」の社員、安部智己容疑者（５３）ら
日本人の男４人とフィリピン人の女２人の計６人を逮捕した。
逮捕容疑は、平成２５年５月と２６年４月
女２人の長期在留資格を得るため
虚偽の婚姻届をそれぞれ愛知県刈谷市役所と
蒲郡市役所に提出した疑い。
県警によると、フィリピンパブの実質的経営者と
店長が偽装結婚を持ち掛け、安部容疑者ら２人が応じたとみられる。

6月18日、フィリピンのキリノ元大統領（1890～1956年）の顕彰碑の除幕式が
東京都千代田区の日比谷公園で行われた。
キリノ元大統領は、太平洋戦争中
夫人と子ども３人を日本軍に殺害されたが
日本人戦犯105人に恩赦を与えたことで知られる。
顕彰碑が設置された場所は
恩赦直後の1953年７月に
キリノ元大統領に感謝する「国民感謝大会」が開催された
日比谷公園内の緑地帯で
近くにはフィリピンの独立運動に命をささげた
英雄、ホセ・リサールの胸像も建立されている。

標高約2,470メートルのカンラオン山が噴火した。
噴出した火山灰は上空高く立ち上り
付近を飛行する航空機は迂回するよう勧告が出された。
