2010年7月に、反政府組織アブサヤフによって誘拐された
日本国籍のイトウ・トシオさん（63）を
拉致被害者リストから外すと伝えた。
理由は、アブサヤフ組織の料理人として組織に
貢献しているという情報を入手したからだという。

民間主導の開発を重視する考えを示し、日本企業のさらなる投資を求めた。

3月10日、女性が同居相手の男性に刃物で刺されて死亡した。
調べでは、女性は別の男性の子供を身ごもっており
これに気付いた容疑者の男性が激怒し、女性を刺殺したらしい。
