Arsenal favourite predicts 'massive transfer window' and tells Wenger to sign midfielder like Chelsea's Matic
Arsenal splashed out a club record 42.5million on playmaker Mesut Ozil last summer but injuries and poor form have exposed their shallow squad and derailed their title challenge once again.
Former midfielder Parlour is hopeful that manager Arsene Wenger will put pen to paper on a new contract, but he believes this summer could be pivotal for the north London Black Leather Lavalliere 100mm club.
"I hope Wenger stays and we will see what happens with his contract but I think it is going to be a massive transfer window in the summer and Arsenal have to go and push the boat out," Parlour told Sky Sports.
Arsenal's failure to land a striker this season has left them with just rookie Yaya Sanogo and the out of favour Nicklas Bendtner as back up to Olivier Giroud.
"Everybody can look and say, 'where is the competition for Olivier Giroud?'," Parlour said.
"He is bang out of form at the moment and there is no real forward who can come in and step in to his shoes to do the same job.
"I think Wenger Nude Leather Lavalliere 100mm must have thought he had more or less signed Luis Suarez last summer and something went wrong."
Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini's form has been questioned in recent weeks and Parlour reckons the Gunners need to find a player like Chelsea's Nemanja Matic for the defensive midfield role.
"I still think they need that holding midfielder who is going Leather Lavalliere 100mm to dictate the play and break things up," he added.
"Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta are getting that bit older. I think Nude Leather Lavalliere 100mm Wenger will look in the market for a midfielder in a similar style to Nemanja Matic, who Chelsea bought in January.
"Ramsey was having the season of his life before he was injured. We also know how good a quality player Jack Wilshere is. He just needs a season without injuries.
