The end of year gifts are called oseibo and the midsummer gifts are ochugen.
Department stores display many types and sets of oeibo/ochugen gifts at the end of the year and in midsummer.
Nowadays oseibo is often sent by handling delivery companies, and it is not so usual the gift givers
themselves visit their acquaintances and hand the gifts directly. Above all, selecting oseibo on the Internet has also become popular recently.
I think that it is popular to send ham as a gift.
Canned food and apples also are popular.
But young person doesn't know the details about this customary.
Because many people don't give "Oseibo".
