The wisdom of God & his scripture.

I have been reading this book called "the year of living biblically' where the author try to follow the bible to letter for a year...it is cool in its own way but after today service.... everything seems to tie in perfectly...

Have you ever ask the question, "Why Jesus must speak in parables?" I did? Cos i often dun really get the meaning behind them....

Contrary to popular belief which think that Jesus spoke in parables to help us understand easier, the truth is far from it...

Mar 4:10 And when He was alone, they who were about Him, with the Twelve, asked Him concerning the parable.
Mar 4:11 And He said to them, To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God. But to those outside, all these things are given in parables
Mar 4:12 so that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

It is given for the believer to seek and find out "the MYSTERY of the kingdom" and hidden from the non-believer. There are actually Mysteries in the bible left behind for us to solve in the bible!!

I thank God for a pastor who is constantly seeking the mystery of God, and just get to feed it off him..

But the kind of revelations he gets are amazing... Daddy, i desire those revelations!(Btw, the mystery thingy is my own revelation, haha)

Example of a bible revelation he shared about the Luke 15.

In Luke 15, Jesus shared three parables... and all spokes of lost objects...

Object Lost object Founder
100 sheep 1 sheep Shepherd
10 coins 1 coin Women
2 sons 1 son Father

All three stories carried the JOY of the founder. Isn't it amazing that our God is more happy than us in giving us his Love! This revelation alone is mind blowing..

Some things which i will never know until Pastor shared...

The three founders represent the 3 Godhead,
Shepherd is of cos Jesus,
Woman is the Church = Holy spirit (Cos the Spirit is given to the Church, and the church is depict as the Woman)
Father is of cos God himself..

Cool rite!

And the three stories also talks abt the progression of our relationship with Daddy.
In the first story it is that of a Shepherd and sheep relationship. Which i think most christian have no qualms relating to,

The second is abit tricky.... 10 coins give 1 coin. It is that of the tithe. Which not every christian understand... And this is of higher order compared to the sheep as it is 10-1

The third and of the highest order is that of SONship. We must know that the Son, unlike the sheep.. governs and inherit from Daddy beside learning from his Daddy/Shepherd.

COOL!!! The truths God hides in the bible... Do u know Jehovah Witness dun recognize JEsus as God because this truth is too hidden in the bible.. cos he never openly say he is God. But he said things like, before Abraham, I AM; I AM THE I AM... etc...

I think the reasons he never openly put easy to follow statements like the Law in the old testament is for us who wants him the most, to search, find and own & enjoy...
We know Jesus has lots of followers, but he is closer to 12, even closer to 3 and closet to John which i think has searched the deepest and found the most...

The scripture is alive to those who love it.. :)

there are many more interesting revelations shared by Pastor but i will just end with one that touched me.

But just some basic before i share this...
Rom 11:16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, also the branches.
When the firstfruit(which is the one tenth or tithe) is good, God will consider the rest good!

1Co 15:20 But now Christ has risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruit of those who slept.

Which means Since Jesus have enter Heaven, we will all enter Heaven cos he is the firstfriut and her have done it for us!

But just bringing this further... actually Jesus was God's tithe to US the WORLD... but we rejected it, tortured it, sacrificed it... and which now acted according to God plan, which Jesus became a prefect tithe to him.. thus allowing his to bless us!

The amazing wisdom of GOD! Daddy i am awed!

On the day where couples share their love, with exp flowers, bad calories and fake hearts.... i can't help but feel lonely and tired.....

When will I cross this loveless desert?
It's amazing how something she wrote about a totally different situation applies so well to what some people like myself are going through today.

I've put an excerpt below with the author's permission.

quotes fascinate me - it is so interesting to see what perspectives great men have and what they have to say about humans in general. sadly though, much of it arent exactly glowing remarks :

Men willingly believe what they wish.
- Julius Caesar

Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.
- Euripides

well then, if all men are fools, then doesnt that mean that there isnt any point conducting any conversations in life? ain't it a pity? and since the dawn of time there has always been ample room for self doubt and mutual suspicion thanks to man's innate dark and cunning side :

oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practise to deceive!
- sir walter scott, marmion. canto vi. stanza 17.

i cannot tell how the truth may be, i say the tale as it was said to me.
- sir walter scott

a lie told often enough becomes the truth.
- lenin

ah, BUT! god made men kinda special - he gave us the power to lie and sham, but he also gave us the power to analyse, to search for truth, and ultimately, forgive :

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

In taking revenge, a man is but even with his enemy; but in passing it over, he is superior.
- Sir Francis Bacon

There is one thing alone that stands the brunt of life throughout its course : a quiet conscience.
- Euripides

Truth is generally the best vindication against slander.
- Abraham Lincoln

then we become ironic and cynical (but very very wise words indeed):

Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
- Oscar Wilde

Not that you lied to me but that I no longer believe you - that is what has distressed me.
- Friedrich Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil, maxim #183

Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names.
- John F. Kennedy

but ultimately...

The supreme happiness in life is the conviction that we are loved.
- Victor Hugo

and we are.

so i guess all this makes living life the exciting rollercoaster trip it is - discovery, denial, acceptance, faith, and love.

life is full of little ironies that sometime laugh right in your face... and laughing right back is such a joyful thing to do!

so i guess we still have far to go in order to even vaguely unravel the complexities of Man :

Know then thyself, presume not God to scan,
The proper study of Mankind is Man
- Alexander Pope, "An Essay on Man"

Last, and very very intriguing thought :

We make war that we may live in peace.
- Aristotle

Well said, all you dead people & the author of this post. :)
