Arnold already looking to Nude Leather Lavalliere 100mm 2015
"Obviously disappointing anytime we don't win, and our goal is to win and play in week 11," Arnold said. "We didn't get that done, so I have to find a way to evaluate myself as a head coach and then evaluate the assistants and then the team."
The season started with a 49 14 loss to Austintown Fitch, which qualified for the Division I playoffs, and ended with a 32 7 loss to Lorain. The wins came against Shaw, 30 14, and Cleveland Heights, 38 26. Victories over Howland and Maple Heights had to be forfeited because of the use of an ineligible player.
The Raiders have had two losing seasons since going 9 1 and qualifying for the playoffs in Arnold's first season after leaving the Harding basketball program. Dealing with losing wasn't something Arnold was accustomed to during a 10 year run as the basketball coach.
Arnold has talked to several college coaches in recent weeks to get whatever feedback possible. A consistent message has been the Leather Lavalliere 100mm inevitability of losing seasons.
"They gave me some good advice," Arnold said. "They told me as a coach you're going to experience losing seasons. It's how you respond to it. That's the approach I'm taking. I have Black Leather Lavalliere 100mm to respond as the leader of the program and find a way to get it done."
With losing comes inevitable criticism from the fan base and often from the administration. As a Harding graduate who played football and basketball, Arnold understands why fans might be upset.
"I grew up in Warren and have coached here for a long time," Arnold said. "They have every right to be impatient. I'm going to fix what is broken right now. That's the full intent. As a head coach you can't listen to what everybody says because some people might think they have the answer from the outside looking in. From within, I have to find the answers, which I'm in the process of doing."
News Nude Leather Lavalliere 100mm of the forfeitures came before a week seven game against Euclid. There's no question the loss of two games that had been in the win column was a psychological blow.
"It was difficult, no question," Arnold said. "That took a lot of air out of us. But to our kids' credit, they continued to practice hard. That wasn't a question."
The good news as Arnold looks ahead is the expected return of 24 lettermen. Included in that group is running back Keemari Murry, who has had back to back 1,000 plus yard seasons. Murry will be the offensive focal point in his senior season.
Also returning to the backfield will be quarterbacks Samari Dean and Lynn Williams. Dean gained valuable experience as a freshman. Williams was a sophomore this season.
Receivers Marlin Richardson, Juvar King and Mark Herron will be back. Returning on the offensive line are Drew Jones, Devin Stear and Myron Cunningham.
"When you have 24 guys that played varsity minutes and earned letters as opposed to six, that's a positive," Arnold said. "You can tell young kids what they need to do, but experience is the best teacher."
The Raiders haven't appeared in a playoff game since losing to Mentor in the first round of the 2012 Division I playoffs. The question for the long term centers on Harding's ability to compete in talent rich Region 1.
"I think we can still be a playoff team. I really believe that," Arnold said. "It's one of those things where we have to find a way to get it done. I don't think it's any more difficult (for us) than any other team. We're not making excuses. It has to be a collective effort."
