Maybe I can help you with telling what Im doing. First i start up my notebook. Plug the two cables in of my gaming headset, one for the audio and one for the microphone. Once ive done that I start up the game I want to play. When I want to voicechat on a server like in gmod I press the steam menu ingame sol republic and i go the the options menu. There i go to speech and enable my microphone to voicechat. I also enable the button to voicechat only when i press one button that I chose. If I did that my audio just dissapears from my headset and I only receive sound from my notebook. Also when i try to change the audio popsolrepublic.com nothing helps and the audio from my headphones also dissapears. Maybe I can film it if you want. If something was not clear or if this just wasnt helpful let me know.
Its so weird Zerdus. Normally when i did to try to change the volume for my mic on the menu I posted on this thread or tried to detect the mic I wasnt able to hear anything anymore in my headset. But now it detected it fine and when i played i could voicechat with the people on servers in gmod ( I asked them if they could hear me and they said yes and i even talked with some people that also spoke dutch) and I was able to keep get sound in my headset.
Maybe its solved cuz i messed around with much things. I will try to do it tomorrow again and if it than works ill let you know it and than i can maybe close this thread?.
Hi Zerdus. I think i found the problem. So I said when I plugged my headset in, than I did go to the steam menu and pressed the "detect audio devices" button (see picture). Now when I dont press it it still automatically recognizes my headset so I dont have to press that button anymore. I also found out that when I press that button I have the same problem again with the audio that comes out my speakers from my notebook and not from my headset. So the solution I think is very simple: I dont have to press that button never more again because this causes the problem and it also recognizes the headset itself. ( This time I didnt forget to put steam in English :-D )
