アルバム・タイトルはいかにもジョニー・グリフィンのリーダー・アルバムのようですが、一部グリフィンが参加したものはありますが、当時フランシー・ボランがケニー・クラークと組んで作ったオクテット、フルバンドのピックアップメンバーを中心にした演奏を集めたもののようです。
フランシー・ボランはベルギーのピアニストで一時チェット・ベイカーのクインテットに参加していたようですが、僕は知らないピアノです。
この曲ではミルト・ジャクソンとサヒブ・シハブがフィーチャーされた演奏です。
台風１４号は針路をかなり南向きに変えたようですが、台風の北側に大量の雨を降らせる雲があるので、東京の雨は明日まで降り続くようです。
残念ながら台風一過も期待できず、来週もずっと曇りの予報となっています。スカッと晴れた秋空はいつになるやら…
