Japanese radio and television stations are playing songs from Noctämbuls since a few days ago. The heavy metal band in Catalan formed by musicians from the regions of Baix Penedès and Garraf has just released their first self-titled album in the country by the local distributor Soul Stealer Records. The success has come, especially after playing on a national radio: since then, in their social networks, the best thermometer to know if something like it or not, have proliferated Japanese followers.
«The answer is being quite good. They liked that we have a harmonica, unusual instrument within our style, "say the members of this training emerged in 2012. They already know some of their new fans through Facebook or Twitter. "We talk to our followers on a daily basis and they share our posts," they say. At the moment, they do not have tour in sight by Asia to know them.
The cover and the booklet of the album are the same that were published here in 2016. The only change is the inclusion of a flap with the lyrics of the songs in English and Japanese. They are nine songs: eight own and one version of Lords of the stones of Sangtraït, his band of reference. All are translated into English and Spanish on YouTube, and do not rule out incorporating the Japanese in the future.
Japan is one of the world's bastions of metal. "It's a good market for music in general and there are many followers of this style regardless of the language," says the members of Noctämbuls, who caught the attention of Soul Stealer Records "when they heard us". Another metal band from Tarragona, Ankor, also triumphs in the Japanese country and even did a mini-tour there last December.
Apart from his Asian foray, Noctämbuls is already working on what will be his second album. He has entered the studio to begin to give shape and his forecast is to see the light early next year. Who knows, maybe I'll also get to Japan.
Origins as a tribute to Sangtraït
Noctämbuls was created in 2012 as a tribute band to Sangtraït. His first concert was in 2013 in Calella (Barcelona). That same year he recorded his first own song, a renewed and more rocker version of the anthem of the collagen castellera Bordegassos of Vilanova i la Geltrú. In 2016 he released his first self-titled album (distributed by Picap), the only one he has to date. The band is formed by Pep Fillät (vocalist), Arnau Carbonell (guitar), Rubén Bailón (guitar), Txärli (bass), Xiscu Rubio (harmonica) and Rafa Ballesta (drums).
