Description Rose Armitage is taking her boyfriend, Chris Washington, to meet her parents for the first time. He's a bit uneasy about how they'll treat him, as they're white and he's black. However, her parents turn out to be unfazed and everything seems to be going fine. Chris then starts to notice some weird behavioral traits with the African-American staff at the house. The Armitages throw a huge party and Chris ends up in some awkward conversations with the guests. Initially, he just puts it down to the racial difference, but then the guests', and Armitages', motives start to appear more sinister. Chris decides it is time to get out

This is making me realize that the main thing that seperates people who love this movie from those who hate it is you either accept it's a film focused on imagery, ideas, and symbolism or hate it doesn't explain things. And while I love it bc it does so many things right with creating atmosphere, dread, and the uniqueness of the idea and execution, I can understand being annoyed that Peele just expects you to go with it and not ask practical questions. For me it depends on what I felt the goal of the film was. Some movies rely more on the practical reasonings of the story or don't answer things that make it contrived. But some others don't answer it bc it isn't the point. An example is LOTR Trilogy how they don't use the Eagles to go to Mordor. You can try to explain why based on the books but it's never addressed in the movies bc the focus is the journey to Mordor and the eagles would make that journey not happen. I can just accept that the eagles can't help for whatever reason bc the movies are terrific for what they're trying to do. And one of the main goals of US is to distort your perception of reality so I personally don't need everything to make perfect sense. I thought the idea of depraved souless clones of all of us living in abandoned tunnels underneath was intriguing and terrifying and I loved the way Peele represented it enough that I didn't need the logistics explained. But if I did then I get how this can really just set people off and then they don't like the twist or the last act to be interesting bc they were expecting answers to solve their questions and they never got them. And also I can see how the main theme can bother some red hatted viewers and unlike Get Out which was a tighter film, there is a lot more practical issues to point out in US to justify their annoyance with the idea that class and economy disparity exists in America.
While listening to this, I remember, my best friend who became my lover and whom I love for the past four years. Sayang lang na hindi na tayo pwede, kasi ayoko na masaktan ulit. Everytime na nag aapproach ka sakin ngayon, I am not giving you any oppurtunity para makausap ka, kasi babalik nanaamn tayo sa dati. I wanna settle for less again. Not again. But, I got you stuck in my mind, can't get out. Please get out. I wish you good luck in everything you'll do. Lahat ng pangarap natin, kalimutan nalang natin lahat.
How liberals are in real life.
I came into this movie expecting something to be pounding racism as the main theme. I expected it to just be about racism and how certain groups of people want to go back to the days of slavery. It didn't hit racism in a way that was meant to make people feel uncomfortable. The remarks about racism are more common themes and not the point of the movie. I don't Want to spoil the movie, as the overall plot is interesting. Just this movie being primarily about racism would likely keep many away from it. It does have themes involving racism, but that is not the primary objective of the movie as far as I can see.
The movie has a slow build, but really picks up around an hour in. The build feels justified at the end. There's a particularly comical character that is scene more and more as the movie goes and steals the show towards the end. The plot twist is particularly interesting as it's not quite what was expected and yet seems like a reasonable twist.
Not a fantastic movie, but overall a fun movie going experience. Not excessively gory to prevent people who don't enjoy those parts in movies, but it is R for a reason. Just seems like a good balance that really surprised me that I didn't regret seeing it.
Hit like if you want AshTan to be part of the music video😍 what a beautiful song💕.
He always sounds so depressed in this series.
I got u stuck in my mind can't get out, please get out,DON'T GET OUT.
Who is here because of Kanye West? This is a Kardashian family.
It's not just a white people can never accept that a white character could ever be truly evil. She was casted ON PURPOSE so the audience would trust her. She played the part. We KNOW hypnosis is a thing in the movie and it's not farfetched at all to believe she could have potentially been hypnotized. It's not until we see how crazy she is with her victims on the wall behind her and smiling as Chris chokes her that it's made apparent that she is just pure evil. I myself thought maybe she was hypnotized to a degree before it became obvious that she wasn't. It's not just a refusal of white people to see themselves as bad. She's just a good-ass actress, LOL.
I never understood why she was going back and forth with the cop now it makes sense.

The mentioned distributor doesn't pay the farmers enough, just like the other distribitors. All of the consequenses logicly follow. A market-problem that spills over in financial, enviromental and other problems.
