Hi everybody! Long time no write! Been busy being a tour guide for the past month with friends and family visiting. Also haven't chatted in a month or so. I'm on holiday for 2 months ish and am glad to be visiting and escaping winter in sunny Singapore! Am also going to Taipei for a wedding before I return to travel Japan! Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, etc are on the itinerary. Tokyo isn't nearly as cold as Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada) but surprisingly I wear more here than I did there! Must be the humidity, like the Japanese say. It's drier in Canada thus feels less cold? Or something like that... Am chatting in a bit & I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces! 3 days till my little sister gets here, 9 days till Christmas!
How is everyone holding up? There's this nasty cough going around & I have been unfortunate enough to catch it. Comes with a nastyyy head ache. I was at the clinic & everyone had the same problem. & I see people with it on the streets, on the train... My friend had it as well & was prescribed this particular medicine that made her high & trippy & have suicidal thoughts. Really funny.
So I heard all parts of the Imperial Palace is only opened on 23rd December & 2nd January. But the lines to get in are 2 hours long? I don't know if I want to bother to find out for myself but I sure do want to see it. What's everyone's plans for new year's eve/new year's? Other than visiting a temple... I am quite bummed that I would not be able to sing Auld Lang Syne this year at the stroke of midnight. I might very well sing it by myself anyway haha.
As usual I got to go because I'm chatting at Leaf Cup now! Happy holidays y'all!

Christmas is just around the corner! 17 days to be exact! I've heard that Japan doesn't really celebrate Christmas; there are no official or school holidays for it so I'm surprised by the amount of Christmas decorations on the street that I've seen - at my little place in Saitama, Roppongi, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, etc. My darling little sister is coming over in 10 days from Toronto to spend Christmas with me & we are going to a little ski resort place in Echigo Yuzawa, Niigata where we spent Christmas 2, 3 years ago. What are your plans for Christmas?
