The railroad security system, which was established in response to the deterioration of public safety on railway facilities during the chaotic period after the war, was abolished in March 1987 and its duties were handed over to police organizations in each prefecture.

This is the story of a railroad security officer who worked for the railroad security office, the predecessor of the railroad police forces currently stationed at major stations.

In the 1960s, Seikan Senpaku Tetudou Kanrikyoku operated the Seikan Ferry between Hakodate and Aomori. And it was another location where railroad security officers entered as well.

Railroad security officer A who was in Hakodate railroad securirty office was patrolling the pier and the boarding waiting room as usual.

The waiting room was packed with people boarding the ferry directly, and people who came to Hakodate from all over Hokkaido on upbound trains and transferred to the ferry, making it the same scene as usual.

Railroad security officer A did not have any particular intention in mind, but as he was looking around at all the passengers on board, his eye fond out a man sitting in a rather worn looking figure.

After the ferry arrives in Aomori, a train connects from Aomori to Tokyo. The man's eyes are fixed on a large timetable for the trains connecting in Aomori.

His eyes were fixed on one point, and at that moment, railroad security officer A   remembered a person who was wanted nationwide by alleged perpetrator of a certain incident.

"Could it be?" he thought and checked the name of the destination station written on the timetable. Officer A was able to see where his eyes were heading

It showed the hometowns of wanted people.

Officer A approached the man with confidence and spoke quietly to him.

"You must be Mr. 〇〇, right?" The man then simply replied, "Yes, I'm tired," and slumped his shoulders.

Among the railroad security officers at this time, there were some officers possessed this kind of keen insight.

It is unclear whether the security officer received any kind of commendation for his actions during this series of questionings, but at the very least, the wanted fugitive was saved from a difficult life on the run.

I think there have been several TV dramas about railroad security officers.

However, in reality, there were incidents like this that the drama producers could never have imagined.
