Prefectural Women's Ekiden: Kagoshima placed 10th, Miyagi winning for the first time in 29 years
 

The 42nd National Inter-Prefectural Women's Ekiden was contested on the 14th over nine sections of 42.195 km, starting and ending at Takebishi Stadium Kyoto in Kyoto City, and Kagoshima came in 10th place with a time of 2 hours 19 minutes and 2 seconds (preliminary figures).

Miyagi won for the second time in 29 years.
 

Track and Field National Inter-Prefectural Women's Ekiden (14th, Kyoto City Takebishi Stadium Kyoto departure/arrival = 9 sections 42.195 km) - Miyagi took first place in the final 9 sections with a time of 2 hours 16 minutes 30 seconds for the second time in 29 years won the championship. Kyoto was second with a 20 second difference, and Hiroshima was third. Osaka, aiming for a consecutive victory, finished in 6th place.

 

 

In the second section, Japanese record holder Nozomi Tanaka (Hyogo/New Balance) won the section award in the 1,500m and 5,000m, and Drury in Okayama. Shu EiriSherry (Okayama/Tsuyama High School) was 5th in the section.
