「学ぶべきことがある」

【○○ to be + 過去分詞】 ... 「～されるべき○○」

"We should learn a lesson."
と同義ですが、受身にした方が非難色がでません。
「誰が」学ぶべきかということも言及してないので、
教訓を導くための柔らかい表現ですね。


組織も学習しなければならない。
学習する組織は、学びを基に改善する仕組みがある。
"Learn Organization"を目指しましょう！

【shot】 ...  an attempt to do something or achieve something, especially something difficult

"best shot"で「全力投球、全力を尽くす」という意味で、"We give it our best shot."とは通常、何かが失敗に終わったときに、「精一杯がんばりましたが、力が及びませんでした」という意味で使い、残念な気持ちが含まれる。

I've heard some pretty dumb ideas, but that takes the cake!

【take the cake】 ... to be worse than anything else you can imagine

「他に抜きんでる」、または、
「並み外れている」と訳されることもありますが、
どちらにしても、皮肉的な表現で使われます。

I'm not keen on

She likes Biology, but she's not too keen on Physics. 
「彼女は生物学が好きだが、物理学は好まない」

【be keen on somebody/something】 ... like someone or something
