After having received specialist training and certification, a physician may choose to further specialize in one area of specialization. For this subspecialty, the physician has at least one more year of full-time study in a particular area of a specialization. This training is designed to increase the physician's expertise in a specific field. Specialists may also be certified by the court in their subspecialty.
