At German Channel, many boats waited to see Manta ray. Here we were, go now or wait? And we decided to jump in. It looks like the manta comes for feeding, other diver was waiting for the current get strong and manta to come. I was lucky, Manta just came for us. We didn’t see the feeding but we saw a Manta AND spotted eagle ray same time. Other dive guide was snorkeling and checking Manta, I could see him from below. I know they want to show Manta to their guests, but I don’t know it’s good or not. This was 3^rd dive. We did Blue Corner 1^st dive. Because it got strong current yesterday afternoon. But it was starting good incoming current. It should be going out current in the morning, but not. So don’t just look at the tides table.

　３本目　ジャーマンにトライ。　マンタ狙いのボートは　もちろんた～くさん来ている。　マンタが現れるまで待つ　他のダイバー達。　ガイドがスノーケリングまでして　マンタを探してる。　私達は待たずにエントリー。　下から　ガイドが水面で　マンタを探してる。　その時　あっマンタ!!　私達の上を　すうっと通り過ぎていきました。　そこまでして待たなくても　マンタは見られる。　というか　ちょっとラッキーだったかけかな?　捕食をしにきたマンタ。　私達は　マンタを見たので　安全停止へ。　もう少しねばれば　捕食マンタが見られたのですが。

Wow, so strong current at Blue Corner. It was our 2nd dive. 2 days ago also strong current, but still you could hock and watch the sharks. Today, it was very hard to hold on and no sharks around. Even shark also run away from this strong current. We hocked 5 minutes and went to safety stop. Beginning of diving was good, we saw a big tuna, lots of sharks. If you are going to Blue Corner, you will try first dive or avoid this strong current. Even we couldn’t tell from surface, so be careful. 　あ～速い!　めちゃめちゃ速い。今日のブルーコーナーは　めっちゃ流れています。最初の１０分ぐらいは　良かったのに・・・・。　イソマグロ、バラクーダも少し群れてたし　サメもたくさん。棚に上がる前に　あれ～?　これはちょっと・・・と思ったので　早めに棚の上に。流された人はうちのチームでは　いなかったのですが 　べつのチームの人は　何人か　アップカレントにもっていかれていました。つかまっているのも結構辛く、５分ほどがんばって　安全停止へ。みんな結構　疲れていました　が、まだまだ　今日の流れは　本当の速いではありません。　

Mosquito

Rain, rain, rain. It’ve been sunny day. But we are having rain a lot also. So I really notice that there are lots of mosquitoes around now. It’s not carrying dengue, so I think that it is ok. But there are lots, so you should be better to carry spray.

Is it Manta this season still? Well…, this is not best season to see Manta ray, and year to year it will change, some years we can see till May. Last year was good and could see lots of manta on May. So how about this year….? It’ve been hanging black manta since more that 3 months. Sometimes go somewhere but it looks like still want to hang around here at German channel. We’ve seen black manta since last Saturday. Just swim by but you can see it still, even today black manta was swimming around and very close to surface.

雨が多いですねぇ。　１日中雨　と言うわけではないですが　天気がいいのに　突然大雨がやってきます。夜降る方が多いかな。で、気づいたのが　蚊が急に増えたこと。家の中でもたくさん飛び回っていて　いつでも殺せるよう　スプレイの用意。　パラオでも　デング熱があります。　デング熱にかかったという話しは聞いていませんが　ご用心を。

ダイビングの方は?　というと　やはりマンタか見た～いというリクエストは　必ずあります。　今はシーズンではないの?　と思う方も多いでしょう。　そうですね、今は　ベストシーズンではないですね。　だからといって、見れないと言うわけではないです。毎年　状況は変わります。　去年は　５月でも　マンタがよく見られていました。　では、今年は?というと、先週の土曜日から　ブラックマンタが見られています。　もう３ヶ月以上　ジャーマンで居ついているかのようにいますねぇ。でも時々、どこかへ行ってしまったりするので　ずっといるわけではないですが、長く見られていますね。　今日もいました。　中層を泳いでいて、クリーニングをしているわけではないので、泳いでいるのを見るだけです　が、見たことには間違いない。　

Ray, ray, ray......

These days were nice weather and visibility also good. It is good condition for diving now. It is just before big holiday for Japanese so dive sites are quiet.

Today(24. APR) we went to Blue Corner and Big Drop Off. At Blue Corner was good strong current. We swam next to big school of barracudas then we hooked at 60ft and sharks were just front of you and nobody was diving is nice. Right now if you want to dive Blue Corner, 1st dive will be good.

Yesterday(23. APR) we dove German Channel and Turtle Cove. Why we did German 1st, because it was good visibility and there was cuttlefish that was guest request. Of course manta ray also their request. But we did not except to see manta ray. But there was manta ray at 1st dive, 1st day of Palau. That’s nice.

22. APR, we went to Blue Corner and German Channel. Blue Corner was going out. Before the day was funny current. It was going out but little bit current from coming in also, so sharks were not close to reef, almost we didn’t see any gray reef sharks. This day was one way going out, so sharks were coming close to reef, we saw a lots of fish. It was request by guest of German Channel. These days we don’t hear that seeing manta, so we didn’t expect manta. We saw sting ray, spotted eagle ray, ornate eagle ray and some people saw manta ray. Wow we saw almost all rays one dive. We don’t have a lot of experience of seeing 4 types of rays. That was good dive.

最近の天気は良く　透明度もとてもいいです。　ダイビングのコンディションは　とてもいいです。　ゴールデンウィーク前なので　ダイビングポイントは　すきすきです。 今日は　１本目にコーナー。　上げ側からのスタート。　結構流れがあり　バラクーダーがちょうど棚に上がる前で群れていました。　棚に上がってからも　サメが前にも上にも。　３日程連続でコーナーを潜ったのですが、下げ側からのスタートで　でも上げ側も流れが・・・とちょっと変わった流れで、潜りにくかったので　ワンウェイカレントは嬉しいです。　先日２２日の２本目。　リクエストのジャーマンチャネルへ。　マンタは最近見たと言う話しは聞いてなかったので　いないと思っていました。　スティングレイにマダラトビエイ、オルネイト、そして　私は見なかったのですが　ブラックマンタが通り過ぎたようです。　なんと１本で４種類のレイが見れるなんて　そうめったにないこと、珍しいのでは。

　お久しぶりになってしまいました。　忙しかった為、ブログが書けなくて　どうもすみませんでした。　近いうちにまとめてご紹介したいと思います。

　パラオに来られる　芸能人の方は　多くなっています。　でも　私には　その情報があまり回ってこず、"知らなかった・・・"　ということばかり。　でも今回は情報ゲット。　　私達と一緒にダイビングをしているわけではないのですが、　私達のボートをレンタルしているのです。　私もひと目見られたら・・・　な～んて思っているのですが。　　じらさずに誰か教えてよ～　ですよね。　　GLAYのメンバーの方で　誰かっていうのは　詳しくはまだわかりません。　今日は　天気が悪く　１日中雨。　ちょっとかわいそうですね。　でも　うちのボートは　キャビン付き。　雨でもへっちゃらで～す。
