We realize our cultural differences not in pronunciation, not in manner, but mostly in food.
My husband have had sockeye salmon almost all through his life,
but I had Atlantic salmon almost all through my life until we got married.
His mother used to make bean jam and muscovado sauce for his daily snacks,
and I seldom had.
One day, shortly after we got married, he said he wanted to eat steak tartare,
and I didn't have a clue what that was.
Long time have passed since then, and we went shopping together last night,
when he finally found the steak on the shelves!
I grilled it for today's bento, but I can't understand why he wanted to eat the steak so much.
This is one of our cultural differences, and it's beyond understanding.
Let it be, we will enjoy the cross-culture at home.
