2007年、ねこ弁1号です。
でも、ねこは今日までお休みなので、お弁当もお休みモード。
手間をかけずに、人が手間をかけてくれたものを詰めさせていただきました。
お母さん、ごちそうさまです。

Another year stars, and I resume making neko-ben.
I just picked what was left from the New Year's dish, and packed for bento.
In older times, shops were all closed on the New Year's Day and the following couple of days,
and they had to cook special dishes to celebrate the New Year in advance and in plenty
so that they don't have to cook for a week or so.
Thus traditional New Year's dishes keep longer than ordinal dishes.
However, you find almost all shops open on the New Year's Day lately.
Some say it's convenient, and I'd say that blurs our old good traditions...

burdock and lotus roots cooked in soy sauce
sweet beans
buttered mushroom
