今回は近場の余市港にチカ釣りに出かけました。
到着してかなり不安に思ったのは、釣り人がいないこと。
寒いからかな～？
寒がりのねこは草々に車に引き上げ、夫を閑散とした漁港の防波堤に残して「ぐぅ…」
防波堤に戻ってからも眠気が引かず、イスに座ってまたまた「ぐぅ…」
夫は８時間もこまめに動きながら釣りを楽しんでいました。
ところがチカ釣りは初めてのことで、どうやっていいかわからず、
結局遠投とチョイ投げでそれぞれ小さなクロガシラ、ホッケ、ソイ２尾を上げました。
すっかり帰り支度をして漁港を出ようとしたところで、
チカ釣りをしている２組の釣り人発見。
夫は思わず車から降りてバケツを覗き込みに…。
それからまた竿をセットして改めてチカ釣りに突入。
二人で３３匹上げました。
結局１２時間、ノンストップで釣りをした一日でした。

We left home at half passed three in the morning for Yoichi harbor.
Our main purpose of the day was to fish for surf smelts.
We did not have a clue how we fish for them, and we could not learn how from the fishers
because there were scarce.
After eight hours of fishing, my husband caught one palm-sized flat fish, one hokke,
and two soi (Sebastes pachycephalus).
We put all the tools back into the car, and I was driving back out of the port
when he found two fishing groups catching surf smelts.
He jumped off the car and went to talk to the folks.
And then, naturally, we started fishing again at the spot.
It was over twelve hours that we were at the harbor.
