Many people spend their long holiday abroad or go back to their hometown.
My husband and I drove up north, and enjoyed biking, fishing, or motor cycling together
on small islands called Yagishiri and Teuri.
Both islands are so small that they have only one main road that goes around the island.
Naturally, people living there know each other well.
They do not lock their cars.
And I recall that my home town was like that when I was little.
What happened to us? What's wrong with us?
I wish and wish that it does not change for them up in the islands.
Here are photos to show what we've had during the trip.
First, seafood dinner at the inn, second is the lunch at Rumoi,
fourth is the miso soup I made with the fish we caught in Teuri,

焼尻と天売の旅、最高でした！
アクセスが悪いところじゃないと、自然も人間の温かさも残っていかないのかなーなんて感じました。
そういう意味では、両島のアクセスが悪いことは歓迎すべきことでした。
焼尻は港から自転車で５分も走ると人家がなくなり、あとは野鳥と綿羊の楽園。
天売はアップダウンがあるので、原付バイクを借りましたが、こちらも５分も走れば
島を一周する唯一の道路が一方通行になります。
そしてその先には60万羽のウトウの生息地が広がるのです。
車にカギをかけない島の人たち。原付もカギをつけたままで駐車オッケー。
そういえば私の生まれたところも小さい頃はカギをかけなくても平気だったっけ。
人間が多くなると他人を信用していては危険になるということでしょうか。
また訪れたときにも同じ島であって欲しいと祈るばかりです。
