I knew it when I put a pan over the stove last night that it was too late to start making pumpkin ‘korokke’.
But my husband suddenly stopped doing whatever he was doing, and offered a hand.
He took my pastry pin and started mashing the boiled pumpkin with a will.
It is good to have an assistant when you are making something like korokke.
It's always a fuss to make it.
I didn't do much help in the kitchen when I was little, but when Mom started to make korokke,
I knew I could help.
You mash potato or pumpkin, and mix with cooked meet.
Then pat it into a ball, dust with flour, dip in beaten egg, coat with bread crumbs, and then deep fly.
It would be a tiring procedure without someone to talk to.
Today’s nekoben:
kanten rice with spicy mushroom
white-meat-fish, miso-nated and grilled
pumpkin korokke
bean sprout marinated with sesame sauce
boiled sweet bean
