Vancouver Olympics started and I often watch TV in the evening to check the resalts of Japanese teams. 
I also noticed that there are some skaters from Suwa where I come from. For example, two medalists in men's 500 meters belong to a private company's skating team located in Suwa called Sankyo
I am so glad to know these skaters are doing their best in the Olympics. 
Speaking of skating, when I was in primary school, my day began skating and ended skating.
The playground of the school became skating rink during winter, so we skated in the moring before lessons started and after eating dinner in the evening. 
To be honest with you, I didn't like it very much because when I joined races, I was always the last person reaching the goal.
But there was nothing to do in the small town during the cold winter, so I skated. Maybe this environment was suitable to produce good skaters in Suwa.
